Don't sweat too much about it girls--it's not copyright infringement or anything if you accidentally do it. I admit every once in a while I'll hotlink something if I know it's not going to get a ton of "viewage." Your first question, number1--it's such a debatable topic, what is stealing and what is not stealing. If you created something, then technically it is "yours" (but in the case of screencaps, was the original video file someone elses?? see... it's such gray area)... but in terms of the bandwidth, no--I personally don't think it's really wrong to link from their photobucket on a place like a forum. Of course, in situations where the picture really is going to be viewed a lot, I think it's probably better to copy the image to your own photobucket, etc. But that's my personal opinion. I initially thought the link to andrewlove's blog was hotlinking because it's not hosted on Ohnozone, but I think blogspot is actually a free host, too. So while it might eat up his bandwidth (some free hosts have limits that will make your site inaccessible if you go over), I don't think it's really "stealing" something he owns, per se. Of course, this is just my opinion. I bought lots of bandwidth, so I have hosted some of the images for the forum on the space I bought. I don't mind sharing! They're such small images they don't take up too much! Ahh--! Hope that answers your questions. I tend to be a bit confusing when it comes to techie stuff, lol...

Lindsey, thanks for clarifying this. I may have been guilty of doing this not because I'm trying to be unkind but because I'm a clueless computer dweeb. I recently learned about the little photo icon on the posts and copying the url was an easy shortcut- I'm assuming that is what a hot link is. I'll make sure I copy everything to my computer first and then to photobucket and then to here. Sorry if I unintentionally broke the 'proper' etiquette. Yup, that's me too - I thought I'd died and gone to heaven when I finally figured out how to post pictures - I had no clue that there was such a thing as 'hot-linking'. So if I copy an image into my own photobucket account and copy the link from there, I'm NOT hot-linking? I'll assume so unless I'm told otherwise...

lindsey...so pretty much as long as you upload any photo/image to your own online storage site (which basically changes the URL) then everythings ok...THANK YOU!!!

I was just wondering... Does proboards have an events calendar of sorts? Something like the birthday calendar? If so, I thought it might be nice to put all the Girls Of The Week on it so we can get reminders to celebrate their anniversaries. Earmark the date of the start of their week perhaps? I think the first GOTW anniversary (Lindsey) is less than 20 weeks away. Just a thought If not, then maybe I can try to remember to make a thread for it with a link to the banner page in the first post.

Go to the fanzone tab and GOTW will be in the fan zone pull down menu. Although I'll grant you, most of us just zip on the forum and don't spend much time on the main page- so it could be more convenient for the forum to create a thread here for it. But what a nice idea though- kind of like an anniversary celebration of sorts.

Thanks for responding mtnme. I think towards the end of your post you sort of saw what I was getting at. Yes, we have the roster on the main page, but I was thinking of an in-forum way of giving a nod to past G'sOTW. No matter though, it was just a thought.

No matter though, it was just a thought. i had made ally a list of all the past winners...i'll just add the newer winners to that list and send the list over to lindsey...maybe lindsey can list the anniversary dates into the calendar and we'll be reminded of these annivesaries like we are of b-days. ...lindsey's 1st anniv. of gotw is on june 25th.

Couldn't think of anyplace else to put this. Having issues with my PM. For some reason I can read but not reply. I promise I'm not ignoring anyone! Lori, I'm sorry my dear, but I can't this time. Thank you so much for thinking of me though.

Thank you so much for thinking of me though. August, I know you have been having this issue for awhile. PM Nerka, as she seems to be the technical computer guru. The only other thing I can think of is your browser might need to be updated. I've noticed sometimes links in webpages won't work when the browser has an old version.

It's me alright because everything is fine when I'm away from home. It's ok though because I'm getting a whole new everything in a few months so I'll just ride it out until then.
Thanks though!

How do I start a new Thread...I'm kinda wantin to start one... thanx! New thread as in a new topic to a board that is already up? All you have to do is go to whatever board you plan on adding the thread to such as, General Board or Dear Apolo, and on the top right hand side of the topics, there are a couple options. They say Mark As Read, New Thread, and New Poll. You want to choose the one that says NEW THREAD. Click that and then add your subject and all your info into your message. Then you can preview or post it. Hope that helped, Kari! If not you can PM or post another question. I'm happy to help! ;D

Here's hoping this is the right place for this...No such thing as a stupid question, right? Anyway, I was wondering, other than minimal ratings, are there any major requirements for fanfictions?

Can someone help me PRONTO! What type of software do you recommend I use to download video directly from my computer. Like if I'm watching a video online, how can I save that to a downloadable file? That I can also download for free off the internet. A quick response is GREATLY appreciated!
