Perhaps if our non-Yankee members go over to the 2008-2009 Schedule thread and see how pathetic we all are, as we discuss our individual withdrawals...someone surely will have pity on us!

www.mediafire.com/?ijimzb7ldm1I'm experimenting with various file hosting websites to enable me to share the China videos with you guys, however because the original videos are quite long the files are pretty large it may take a while for you guys to download them (the 1000a final is nearly 15 minutes and over 55mb). I've posted a link for you to try but I'm not hopeful it will work due to the usage rights of the video. Bare with me though, I'll get there in the end!

Hi Doonick, thanks so much for trying to do this. Here is some feedback; I tried the download twice, once with a DSL modem and once wireless. The modem download took about 4 minutes, the wireless about 8 minutes.
When I tried to play the video, it opened up the Windows Media player, and a pop-up box appeared entitled "Message Usage Rights Acquisition". You are not authorized to view this content.
So this confirms your suspicions about potential user rights.
Looking forward to trying again when you give us the word! Linda

Thank You for trying, Doonick. Karma to you for making the effort to ease our withdrawal symptoms. I guess we're just destined to be shut out and are forced to face our addiction - cold turkey. But you certainly gave it a valiant effort. What next peeps? Should we e-mail ISU and ask 'what gives'? "You won't broadcast it and you're singling 3 countries out who can't see it on a vid? (Of which the other two got to hold the actual events! ) Do you have a bigger plan for us that we MIGHT actually, eventually see?..." "...or are you just picking on us? "

OK Peeps, I did my part. I spoke up and made some noise. It's been 2 months since the world team championships, no pics, no TV, no video - zip-zero-nada. And the USA is still shut out of the ISU videos for this event. Here is the link to contact the ISU if you would like to make some waves. (you have to copy and paste) www.sportcentric.com/vsite/vform/page/feedback/1,11038,4844-130886-132194-74548-user-feedback-start,00.htmlI am a firm believer that if this sport is ever going to grow, get any coverage or make any kind of blip on the national tv radar, it's going to have to come from the fans. Don't expect anything from the governing powers that be other than business as usual. If you really want to see any video on this event, it's time the fans made thier voices heard - LOUDLY! Below is what I wrote to the ISU. It's up to the rest of you to vent your ire as you see fit. And YES, I am obviously suffering some serious withdrawals here. For better or worse, I'm never one to spend a large amount of time b*tching about something I'm unhappy with before I go pro-active and do something about it. Sad, but true, The squeeky wheel does get the grease. Think it doesn't work? Well all I know is I was reading on AJ.com that peeps were going to write in that they wanted Apolo and Julianne to dance their own dance instead of with Maks and Mel, and NOT to "life is a highway". Guess what, their planned dance was changed at the last minute to what the fans wanted. Was it due to the fans at AJ.com voicing thier opinions to ABC? I don't know, but I'd sure like to think so. Before ISU listens to the fans, you first have to let them know that Short Track HAS some! TOOWANDA! (...obscure movie reference...) ___________________________________________________ I am curious as to why the US is being shut out on any video access to the Short Track world team championships. Our men's team wins the world championships, we can't see a single photo or video of the event. It's not shown on TV anywhere in the states or the internet anywhere else and yet WE are not allowed to see it here. This is completely infuriating. Apolo has done more than any other US athlete to get fans interested in short track in this country, and unfortunately, he can cha-cha his hips until they fall off- and to no avail. Once he gets the fans interested in not only the sport, but the other US ST athletes as well, there is absolutely NO COVERAGE by ISU, USS, or anyone else for that matter. Are you actually TRYING to destroy any fan base this sport ever gets in the USA? - or are you just picking on us? - Bloody hell, if you put the d**n thing on a dvd, we'd probably buy it, we're so desperate! :-(

I actually had no problem opening/viewing the link; I didn't receive the "Message Usage Rights Acquisition" error that unfortunately didn't allow aaosmts19 to view the video. Maybe the .wsx file format of the video is being more temperamental than an .avi or .wmv file would be? I don't know...I did, however, try converting it to a different video format (either .avi or .wmv) but it wouldn't allow me to. Edited: Darn, I spoke too soon! I downloaded the link on Thursday when it was first posted and was able to view it just fine, but I just tried playing it again now and did indeed receive the "Message Usage Rights Acquisition" message . Thank you for your efforts anyway, doonick.

OK, I think I might have cracked it! The link below is of the same footage (Mens 1000m a final) however, I've only downloaded 3 minutes of it just as a test. If it works for everyone, I'll go ahead and rip all of the files. www.mediafire.com/?uwf29xnzggg

But when I click on the downloaded file, it thinks is it an audio file; opens up Media Player and all you hear is the Chinese commentators.

We are making progress! No access problems now. But when I click on the downloaded file, it thinks is it an audio file; opens up Media Player and all you hear is the Chinese commentators. aaosmts19, I know that what you just described is usually a codec problem. The 3 minute footage doonick posted this time downloads as an .avi file now so you should get both audio and video when playing it. I have converted doonick's video to a .wmv file--try downloading that and see if you get visual with the audio (if you do, then it is a codec issue on your end with certain .avi files). Let me know if this works: www.megaupload.com/?d=S7BO7G87

The software I'm using to download the footage saves the files as AVI's which can only be played if you have the relevant DviX software installed onto your computer. The link below is from a reputable sight which provides all the answers you need to understand more about DivX codec. There is also a free download which will enable you to play all DivX files with any media player. www.divxmovies.com/codec/Don't worry, I'm determined to get these files up on site one way or the other!
