Will he or won't he?
As yet no clear answer to the question that's on everyone's mind!
USA Today | Ohno seeks to stay in the Olympic limelight
Apolo Anton Ohno plans on being at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The question is in what capacity — short-track speedskater or another role?
"I don't know what I'll do. I'm looking for some kind of a sign to point me on which path to go. That's what I'm looking for right now." "To get one more medal, regardless of color, that would statistically make me soar above the rest," he says. "I don't skate for that reason, but it's there." "The next four years of my life are very important. There are a lot of things I want to do. I want to finish school. There are a lot of business ventures I want to pursue. It's a question if I want to dedicate my life again, to go back to living the kind of lifestyle necessary
Alright whose happy? IM HAPPY!

Yes!!!! Yes! Yes! Yes!!! Finally I am happy again to talk on this board. I mean I was always happy to talk on the board, but lately not all the threads. But this news changes everything!!!And talk all day long!!!! Yes! Yes! Because I admit the Apolo drought was getting to me I don't know about you guys, but I am strictly here for Apolo and all his glory so the more things to talk about Apolo, the better I feel!!! I am so happy for him, and you know what, I glad that Apolo took the time to figure out what he wanted to do. And this was something that he did after Salt Lake City. He took some time to do the interviews, missed Worlds, and hae everybody speculating that he was going into entertainment. Same thing this year, he did the same thing, and you know what I am so glad that I stopped talking about it and let him do his thang, because he is going to skate in 2010!!!!! I am so pumped!! And he's going to finish school!!! ;D La, la, la

Who knows, maybe he is secretly scouting around the country for other talents to bring into the world of short track. Taht way we can capture the relay too with a really good team! And sweep the podium as well! All because of one young man! So much is on your shoulders Apolo. Sorry for the strain.

He said he is going to be there in "some capacity" he DID NOT say 100% or not if HE, himself, is going to skate. Re-read it again, SLOWLY this time some of ya!

Yeah I re-read it and I am still happy. He will be there, he may not skate, but he will be there. Still happy enough to be happy and it's a 90% chance he will skate

Ok heres the actual article from his OFFICIAl site
Apolo's Interview with USA Today May 16, 2006 ::
Ohno seeks to Stay in the Olympic Limelight By thingy Patrick, USA TODAY :: May 16, 2006
Apolo Anton Ohno plans on being at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. The question is in what capacity — short-track speedskater or another role? "I want to be a face in 2010," says Ohno, who won three medals in Torino, including gold in the 500 meters. "I want to be involved. The Olympic spirit, the Olympic movement is in my blood. "I don't know what I'll do. I'm looking for some kind of a sign to point me on which path to go. That's what I'm looking for right now."
While he's looking, he's having a good time.
"I went to my first Kentucky Derby," says Ohno, who turns 24 Monday. "I had no idea it was that big a party. Unreal. Had a lot of fun."
Ohno's also spending a lot of time in Los Angeles, working to establish sponsorships with companies.
"The older I get, the more I want to remain true to myself," says Ohno, who grew up in Seattle. "I want to make sure I'm with the right companies. ... To become the best to do the things I want to do in this sport takes the help and support of a lot of people."
Sounds like a guy leaning toward competing. He mentions he and 1980 speedskater Eric Heiden have the most medals, five, of any male U.S. Winter Games athletes.
"To get one more medal, regardless of color, that would statistically make me soar above the rest," he says. "I don't skate for that reason, but it's there."
At other times, he sounds weary of the training and competition.
"There's a lot of pressure involved. People want to see me win," Ohno says. "I skate because I love the sport. This'll be 10 years on the world scene now. That's a long time for a sport as demanding as mine, eight to 10 hours a day, every day.
"The next four years of my life are very important. There are a lot of things I want to do. I want to finish school. There are a lot of business ventures I want to pursue. It's a question if I want to dedicate my life again, to go back to living the kind of lifestyle necessary."
