Apolo: "Deborah,

Growing as a person is credited to my father and friends. Only they have seen me at my worst, lowest and when I felt the most helpless. My father has shown me that anything is possible, to reach the unreachable, and to never stop trying. Life is like an everlasting battlefield in which you get knocked down far more times than it seems you are picked up. He has taught me to overcome obstacles and to never doubt myself, to trust in my “Apolo Team� and the supporters that we have. Spiritually I am very blessed to be surrounded with people that care about me and have my best interests at heart (something that is far to find these days).

So many lessons have been taught to me from my dad and some of them indirectly. I learn from his mistakes as he does mine. Never in my life has someone worked as hard or cared as much about his son. This strong love and friendship is something that I truly cannot replace.

Through all arguments and fights with my dad, I always take his advice to heart...even when I say HE is wrong :

Gold-medal winning short track speedskater Apolo Anton Ohno flew from Los Angeles, where he has been working on a myriad of promotional and business opportunities. Ohno said he would never miss any chance to come to the White House with his teammates.

I did, just once. It was a few months ago. It was not a dumb question, I don't think. But he's not answered it. Don't know if he will and hey, I'm not going to lose sleep if he doesn't.
