I've heard some rumors on other boards that David A. may be singing "And I Saw Her Standing There.." tomorrow night. If there's any truth to it, you just know that the crowd is going to go nuts. "Well she was just 17.. you know what I mean..." I don't really know that song but I'm anixous to see it! oh jen...you youngin' you the song is classic beatles............that would be a perfect song for david a .

Yes, thought-provoking, Lexi, though I haven't lost faith yet! Still, I have felt it kind of odd that Michael Johns has made records. So has Luke Menard. Didn't know about Carly. And they claim Brooke opened for...mmm... I forget and I already closed the window. Some country band. THAT seems really odd, since she hasn't even been the strongest contestant so far. Not sure how true all this is, or if someone having been a model or on a TV show means they're a plant. Some of them haven't specifically sung for a living before. The only requirement to be on the show is not to have a current contract, I think. So, experience isn't necessarily bad. It's a big leap from "Michael Johns tried out in a last ditch effort to get some kind of career going" to "The producers are manipulating the American public and have put their choices into the top 24 in order to cram them down our throats." I mean, if these singers didn't do well before, why would producers, who are here to make money, purposely put failures on the show? We won't necessarily buy the albums, even of the winners (really only two of the Idol winners are successful, and maybe two others from among the top four finishers.) I think I'm rambling now... time for bed. Sorry I'm a little late on this subject but I just wanted to say that I'm shocked at this news, if its true. I knew about Carly, Robbie and Michael but not the others but I do find it very interesting especially the ones who are connected to Idol producers. I'm not sure what to think about it. I know that Jordin Sparks made a Christian album before Idol and did some other things so I guess it makes us wonder that how is Idol picking these top 24 finalists? Jordin Sparks en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordin_SparksI didn't know it was Beatles night tomorrow, how exciting, I love the Beatles! I agree that David A needs to start singing more upbeat songs, hope he does that. I have this feeling that he is going to win, I know its too early to say but I just have that feeling, so many people are already falling in love with him and his cute baby face!

here they are...the beatles...enjoy www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_VqX73y710Jenn....I agree with Fan. You are a youngin'. LOL I didn't grow up in the Beatles heyday either, but heard these songs ad nauseum via my folks. Again, I'm not positive this is the song he'll be singing, but its the rumor. It's ashame Simon made the comment last week about doing something uptempo next time. While I agree with him, it's ashame he said it now. There are some great slower Beatles tunes he'd do wonderfully with: Penny Lane being one of them. I'm still hoping for Get Back or Twist and Shout tonight. Linmiste and Lisam, it is an interesting article. I think some of these folks who may have had a bit of an advantage (ie David A via Star Search and even Jordan) were just way too young at the time to have made it big. I don't know how true it is, but I've read rumors that David A, for example, was very likely groomed to be on AI for awhile. TPTB probably followed him from Star Search and were chomping at the bit to encourage him to audition when he reached 16. Even I'll admit it's interesting he missed the age limitation last year, but here he is this year auditioning at 16. While I can't blame anyone for using whatever means to 'make it' in the business, I think someone like Carly has two things going against her. She's from Ireland (and some have voiced they don't think it's 'appropriate' she audition for American Idol) and she had a fully backed career before that failed. Many feel she's already had her moment in the sun. Same could probably be said for Michael Johns too. All that said, they are all following the rule which has always been that no one may have a recording contract....it's never been a problem that they've had professional experience.

Well, Beatles night just didn't do it for me, despite the depth and diversity of their songbook. I thought the best performance of the night was from a guy that I was ready to write off -- Chakesi (and yeah, I know that I'm mangling the spelling.) I'm still not totally sold on him, but he entertained me more than most of the contestants tonight.
My three favorite guys are Michael Johns, David Cook, and David Archuleta. Michael John's "Across the Universe" was just okay. I think that Michael is sexy, talented, and has a little bit of a Jim Morrison vibe going for him. He wasn't all there tonight, though. I'm betting that INXS wishes they had signed this guy to replace Michael Hutchence instead of...whoever the heck it was they did sign.
David Cook rocked out tonight, and was great. I agree with Paula, he's the dark horse -- talented and sexy in a quieter, more subtle way than Michael. He wasn't my favorite to start with, but he's growing on me.
This wasn't David Archuleta's week. His rendition of "Imagine" two weeks ago was nothing short of amazing. He couldn't find his groove this week. He's still a major talent. I'm not sure where he'll find his niche though -- a boy band?
I'm not as wild about the women, but I probably like Brooke White the best. Her performance tonight was for me, just okay. But she has personality-plus, and that might take her far.
Kristy Lee Cook -- cute but forgettable. Could she make it in country music? Dunno. That's for the country fans to decide, I guess. But I'm just not feeling it.

Just call him Jacuzzi. Other boards do!
We have almost the same favorites though I'm not sold on David Cook just yet. My favorites are David A., Michael Johns and David Hernandez.
Syesha. - Forgetable. Not only because she had the first spot, but because her performance was zzzzzzzzzz. Chikeze - A stunner. Really well done. Ramiele - I don’t get the ‘played it safe’ comment. I liked her song choice and performance. Jason - Well done, but I’m dazzled more by his beautiful eyes and gorgeous teeth than I am his voice. Carly - I can appreciate that she’s talented, but she does nothing for me. David C - I thought he was the best of the night. Brooke. Simon loves her. I think she’s the best of the ladies, but the ladies haven’t grabbed me this year. David H - Love him, but tonight was his weakest performance. I don’t think he needs to worry though Amanda - MUST! GO! NOW! Michael: - Loved his performance though the song wasn’t familiar. Kristy - Who thinks a country version of a classic Beatles tune is a smart choice? Needs to go after Amanda. David A - Oh! My! God! I’m worried that the stress of being pimped as The Chosen One might be affecting David. Something’s happened since “Imagine”. He seemed completely disoriented during tonight's performance. I started to worry during his pre-clip when he stated that he’d never been more nervous and was really stressed. Many say forgetting the lyrics once - let alone 2 or 3 times as he did - is unforgivable. (I've read tonight that David Cook errored with his lyrics). I’m also wondering if he has a tough time with the faster-paced songs or if he's just tired from the pace and taking school unlike the others. Regardless, maybe now the pimping will subside and he’ll be judged on his talent. Next week will tell the tale. He’s not going anywhere for awhile. He probably gets more votes himself than the others combined and the criticism will only help him and encourage voters who may fear he’s in trouble. I give him props for taking the criticism like a man, no excuses, no back talk, no drama. While it showed what a pro he really is publicly, I don’t doubt for a minute that he had a bit of a breakdown privately backstage. It was a bit of a crash and burn. You could tell he was embarrassed. Did anyone else notice him say ‘sorry’ to the crowd at the stage when he finished? He knew.

My favorites TONIGHT in order of preference. This differs from last week when I voted for David Cook.. Tonight I voted for Michael Johns.
Michael Johns David Cook Brooke Jacuzzi Jason Carley Syesha Ramiele David H Janis Joplin Kristy David A
It is interesting. I was high on the David A bandwagon in the beginning, but I think he is still too young. David Cook was not tops on my list but he is growing on me. Jason's eyes are amazing. I am enjoying the show - a lot. I thought Ryan was pretty funny tonight.
Susie, Did Michael JOhns try out on NXS? I can't remember who won but I liked him.

Susie, Did Michael JOhns try out on NXS? I can't remember who won but I liked him. Hi Kirkland - I followed RockStar INXS because I went to high school with the winner - JD Fortune. I don't recall Michael Johns being in the mix along the way. He should have been though. I find him incredibly reminiscent of Michael H even though there's only one Michael H. About David A....Autumne at TwoP posted this: According to two separate people who went to the dress rehearsal, David did quite well with the song. One of them ranked him as top 3 overall, and the second best among the guys (after David Cook).I still think he was totally overwhelmed last night. This kid can sing "Fallin'", "Climb Every Mountain", "Get Here if You Can" and "I'm Not Going", but can't get through "We Can Work It Out"? Something just ain't right. The pressure on this kid is immense. Putting him in the pimp spot again last night as The Chosen One finally did him in. I feel for him.
