I see that all of David A's stuff has been pulled from Youtube due to a copyright claim. I am depressed

Great job by the guys last night! May I say that I love the fact that they're allowing instruments - it gives a new dimension when it's used wisely... it may seem a bit of an unfair advantage this time around, but I'll bet next season most of the contenders will know at least a few chords on the guitar... My top 3 last night: David Archuleta - This song was a little 'old' for him, but it was a totally unique adaptation - I loved it! David Cook - The hit of the night for me! I see he hasn't taken my advice to visit Yuki on that hair, though... Jason Castro - Man, oh, man - I love his style, his voice, that song, those dreds, his humble attitude... everything. BTW, I have the Jeff Buckley version of Jason's song (Hallelujah) that the judges were talking about, and it's awesome! Back next week (I'm guessing): Michael Johns: Pretty darn good and pretty darn pretty. I agree with whatever judge said that he should go more soul/blues and less rock... David Hernandez: Not that memorable for me, but he deserves to be back next week. 'Still waitin' for him to bust out some Chippendale moves... Jacuzzi (Sorry, I never can remember how to spell his name, but I CAN spell Jacuzzi): Done good. Danger Zone: Danny Ortega: Interesting kid, and I admire his 'sass' (if you quote me, make sure you include that first 's'), but his vocals were weak, and his performance was 'karaoke'. Luke Menard: *swoon* *sigh* *sniff*... bye bye...

Right on the money Lori. I think maybe David A's folks back pedaled him a bit this week and they are smart. If he's always the front runner he'll go the way of Doolittle and Sabrina Bryant. he needs to be in a little danger to keep the votes coming. Someone needs to work on that drab wardrobe. I do think David Hernandez has real talent... at least he can sing better than most. Overall they still don't blow me away. I realize how difficult it is to sing a short song, live, that isn't your genre. But still. I'm already looking forward to DWTS, ballroom nut that I am. Go Kristi and Jason.

Hey, Lori, great review! I have a sense, however, that it will be Chikeze and Luke going home, and Danny staying. Number1fan posted a link to vote for favorite DWTS winner (of course hoping to keep Apolo's big lead), and the site also has a place to vote for your favorite American Idol. I am thinking maybe it will be a good indicator of who is in trouble, too. www.votenumber1.com/voteforamericanidol.htmlI think you can only vote once a day. They have Chikeze and Luke in the bottom two with Danny and David H. close behind. Too bad David's stuff has been removed from youtube, Lizzbeth. It doesn't look like anyone cared until he got on this show. I understand the concern over copyright infringement, but in another sense it's too bad.

Good review, Lori.
I actually voted this week and shocked myself by voting for David Cook! I thought he was the best this week. David H was good too but I think the former job might cause him a problem, at least after I read that he often danced nude in front of and over men...whether true or not, I don't know. I thought shoe-in David A. was weak this time and didn't care for the way he came across at all. Not sure if he will be the Idol. Jason's song was good but don't think he has the goods to be an Idol. My pick to go home this week is Chickeezie (sp) and " *swoon* *sigh* *sniff* *bye-bye* " (great line, it says it all) Luke. He is so attractive but the voice too weak and too high. Once again, I agreed nearly totally with Simon.
Any question that DO is gay should have been answered last night - the boy is making a statement! I like his sass but he better not get too cocky (*@()!#)(@#(*) with it. I also think Simon likes the sass too, but it will wear on him if Danny doesn't improve. He will definitely have a following and as Paula says, he is true to himself and unique...definitely unique.

Well, I do think Amanda really redeemed herself this week. She went from one of the worst performances last week, to one of the best this week. One can't stress enough the right kind of song that works for your voice. I also liked Brook this week too. Talk about two performances from the opposite ends of the scale. I really liked the intimate feeling of the song Brook created by just her and the guitar. Syesha- Wonderful voice, but uugghhh, once again, disliked the song choice. All we need now is Minnie Ripperton's 'Lovin' You', and this season's Idol will have hit the music trifecta in the category of "Songs I Can't Stand'.

Did David A sing "Don't give up" by Josh Groban or am I just nuts? He was the best! And I'm beginning to like Jason with the drieds! I forgot about the girls last night! How did they do?

You guys are too funny. Luke on General Hospital. I watched that for awhile back in high school... when What's His Name was on there and sang "I Can't Fight this Feeling Anymore". Oh! Jack Wagner. He was cute.... But for some reason I can't get into Luke. He makes me uncomfortable. Sorry. I wish him the best, though. I was fine and/or pleased with tonight's eliminations. A lot of people seem to like Amanda... I guess I just don't get rock 'n roll. I like David Cook: he sings. But Amanda just croaks. I actually think she has a nice voice when she isn't trying to be a rock star. Jenna, David A. sang "Another Day in Paradise." I am really hoping he sings a Josh Groban song, or maybe "Everything" by Michael Buble. I can totally see him being that kind of artist. ("Sway" has been too overdone; I think Melinda sang it last season. Or was it the season before? I'm losing track.) Did Blake Lewis sing at the top of the show tonight? I was putting my son to bed and missed it. How was he? Looking forward to a good season. Looks to me like the boys will be left standing in the top three, but things can change weekly.

Which one is Brooke? I was pleased with the girls last night, actually. Still don't care for Amanda because all I see is a little girl in there trying to be "bad". It doesn't ring authentic, having said that, she did really well last night. So did the Carly Simon wannabe - is that Brooke? Ramielle didn't have her best night. All in all, I wasn't blown away nor was I disappointed. Watching the Osmonds 50th Reunion (I know, gag me with a sthingy) while waiting for Idol results show...

I just caught up with this past week’s performances and results. Michael Johns blows me away. I could go on and on about how incredibly talented he is, what a great voice he has, charisma, stage performance, yada, yada, yada and while that's all true and valid, I have to admit that my shallowness has trumped any attempt to be unbiased - the man is HOT! Sizzling hot! All kinds of sexy. David Hernandez also blows me away. I think he has the strongest vocals in the competition - hands down. I love his song choices and how he switches the songs up into his own original mix. I never know what he’s going to do with them and that’s exciting to me. His ‘glory notes’ or ‘big moments’ are the best. David Archuleta. This kid may not be the best vocal talent this show has ever introduced us to, but great chops have never guaranteed success anyway. Adorableness partnered with good vocals can get you very far. This guy is just too good to be true. I still maintain that he’s already the winner. How do you possibly compete with a handsome 17 year old with an ‘aw shucks’ attitude and natural humility, topped only by a smile to die for? You just can’t. He’s got the AI market already. The fight is for second place. Also, am I crazy or has he literally grown up before our eyes in the past week? When he performed Tuesday night, he finally looked all of his 17 years. I see the image consultants are hard at work grooming their next AI. I don’t see the other contestants ‘stylin’ quite as much as David. And did anyone else think he seemed pretty subdued this week - both on the performance show and the result show? To me he looked a bit tired or like the pressure might be starting to wear..... For awhile now I’ve thought he was incredibly nervous any time he was on stage and I thought I was the only one who noticed this…then I saw this post by mrs cornholio at TwoP and it validated what I was thinking: For those who think that David is phony and calculated, I offer a counter-argument. I think his problem is that he is way too nervous. His hands shook so much on the piano tonight that I thought the Big One had finally hit L.A. The reason he looks like he is going to pass out after each performance is because he really is going to pass out. I feel bad for the kid, anxiety is the pits. I've lived with it for most of my 26 years; however, not in front of 30 million people each week. The reasons he says stupid things is because he's not a natural public speaker, similar to Dubya. He opens his mouth, gets nervous, and stupid things come out of his mouth. But I really don't think he's "Doolittling" (sp?) us. Does anyone else think this? When he wins this, he’ll need some media training immediately. When he sings he sounds older than his years, but when he’s interviewed, he’s your typical teen….a bundle of nerves, tying to find the right word to express what he’s saying and rambling on and on in desperation. Of course, many find that extremely endearing too. (I don't agree with the poster's 'stupid things' comment above. He still has some maturing to do, as any teenager does). As for the girls, one of my favorite two left last night – Asia. I’m still shocked today. How could anyone choose Amanda or Kristy over her? The girls bore me terribly this year. Now only Ramielle holds my interest.

Ruff-Guest,
Let me try this again. I mean, you spelled the "f**king" correctly and didn't get edited!
Gag me with a sthingy. OK, there I said it again. Let's see what happens.
Lexi, I like the guys better this year but I rather like some of the girls, none quite blow me away though. I thought DA was weak last time, but maybe the poster is correct and that he is a nervous wreck. Poor kid. I would have preferred to see Danny N stay over Chickezie.
