Dang you gals are really crazy over Archie! haha just teasing LOL  Just looked at all those pics of David and WOW some of them are really good! I'm not sure if I like the green pants though. And I just watched the youtube vid of the fans singing his song, too cute! |

loved the concert in Hartford. I posted a report and some inside comments (I could see backstage) over at davidarchuletafanblast.com under Hartford. I did not get to meet David..was traveling with two gals who do not suffer from ODD. Maybe the next one. Listening to David was something I will always remember.

I called a friend Friday and we decided to head over to Worcester, MA on Saturday afternoon hoping to see the idols before the show. We talked about going to the show, but I could never have justified such an expenditure, and my friend really had no extra money. So, we decided to just get in on the "free" fun. We both love David A. -- though I'm more obsessed -- and she loves Michael Johns.
So, we got to the DCU center about 1:30 and stood in the shade of a small tree talking, thinking we were probably the only Moms who didn't have teenage girls with us! We did see some groups that looked like whole families, so that was nice. About 2:00 there was a small scream down the other end of the line. The news trickled down that the bus had arrived. Half an hour later, screams by the doors alerted us that someone had emerged, and we stood on tip toe to see David Cook. He walked down the line and we realized Ramielle was with him. She continued to the end, and David stopped near us, about 3/4 of the way down. We grabbed our cameras and took a photo. He had a red baseball cap pulled low over his eyes and didn't smile too much, though I saw a few grins when he was talking with fans. We kind of forgot about Ramielle (poor thing) though people were still holding out things for her to sign. They didnt' stay out too long... didn't get to everyone.
I don't remember the order of the other Idols, but my friend commented on the excessive hair tossing done by Kristy. Carly seemed nice, but the guards pulled her away for "press" before she could get to the group of fans with a big sign at the end of the line. Brooke smiled a lot and seemed very sweet. Then, they all went in and the crowd's anticipation heightened. I saw a few Castro signs and quite a few Archuleta signs and T-shirts. Chickeze, Michael, Jason, and Syesha never came out.
Then, there was a roar of screams as David A. emerged from the building. The screams continued down the full line and sustained for a good half minute or more. The crescendo of screams followed David down the line as he smiled and waved while walking to the far end. I got out a book for him to sign and gave my camera to my friend. When David came near, I reached over a girl's shoulder and held out my book. The girls to my left asked for hugs and he said "sure". I decided to let out my inner tween and asked if he could sing a song for us since we weren't going to the show. He said no, he wasn't allowed to sing. I was amazed at how he multi-tasked, signing books, carrying on coherent conversations (albeit brief) and juggling the gifts he was given. At one point, he handed his gift bags to the security guard and pulled out his camera phone. He went back down the line about 15 feet and took a picture of a girl with a poster which had a hole cut out of the middle, through which she put her face. I didn't see the front. I thought it might have been Jason's dreds drawn around her face, but I'm really not sure. I thought it was so cute of David to notice her and take time to take a photo. He really seemed to appreciate every fan and grinned broadly. Others have said this, but he is very soft spoken, and has beautiful skin. Lucky teen!
It makes me laugh when I think about how he was apparently well-liked in high school, but not "popular". Now, you can't hold back the throngs of those who love him, of all ages. I don't know what it was like in the concert (my friend and I tried to get last-minute discount tickets, but there were like 400 people at the ticket window looking for the same thing, so it was hopeless) but outside it was clear that David A. got the loudest and most sustained reception. He went down the entire line and got to everyone. Girls were riding piggy-back, just for a glimpse of him. It was a very surreal experience, and lots of fun.

Good for you... for being so assertive and just going out there, ticket or no ticket... that's what it takes if you want to take advantage of a great opportunity to see David A and the rest of the 'Idols'! ;D "Girls were riding piggy-back"  ... that's so cute! Mari - I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you... that you'll get to meet David at your other concerts! As I've said before, your 'behind the stage' report was so good, shedding light on how the 'Idols prepare for their performances! Loved hearing about Wooostahhhh... some cute stories on the other sites. Have not heard much about NH. I am hoping all the Idols take advantage of 2 days off before heading for Baltimore. I would bet it's a good opportunity for them to hook up with loved ones. David's single is released tomorrow so I suppose his label will want him working but I hope not. He needs a break.

well I mis read the schedule. of course they did not get 2 days off.. only 1. So tonite it's Baltimore, then DC then Philly. A big week. There is only one time I believe that they get 2 days off. Anyone know what they get paid on this tour. I had heard the lower ranked Idols got 100K and I'd assume Cook gets mega more and David close behind.

David has always read the Billboard charts in the past, seeing which artists are making it onto the 'charts'. And, now, David is able to see his own name up there... Congratulations to David! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Needless to say... he is absolutely thrilled!!! And iTunes has been selling David's song since August 12th and though it has dropped a little, "Crush" is still doing well, coming in at #10 after several days of sales.

Lily has it on good report that David A is in SLC for another 2 days. Wish he liked Short Track! Snippets of 2 new songs on all his fansites. I really like "Touch My Hands". New photos from the NYC shoot out too. Cook has released his song list and his cover shot. Big doings. They will be promoting these albums like mad now. Before we know it Jan will be here and a new season of AI. Going to be tough to better David and David...
