Well there's a dilemma for me tonite with overlap of Idol and Dancing.. and me with no Tivo. Since I am a total Dance addict, the singers will have to do without me. I think Derek needs to tell his buddy Marky to relax a little.. maybe Mark is gunshy after what happened to him last year. He is so serious and such a meticulous teacher. As usual I compare these first dances with those of Emmit, Apolo and Helio. Certainly we have 3 guys with great potential. What will always amaze me is that Apolo went from World Championship competition to doing something so foreign, and doing it beautifully, in one week. He was , and is, so incredible. Viva Apolo!

Well... I can't say my socks were exactly knocked off yesterday. I mean, this time last year my socks made their way all the way across country, but I know that's not a fair comparison. There will only be one season four.
Mario, Jason, and Albert impressed me most. I can tell Penn did his best, and was very nice. Adam behaved which is good, and Cristian was to me, entirely forgettable.
I'm a west coaster so still a few hours away from the ladies dancing. I agree Number1. They'd better bring it.

Yep, I give last night a C+. If Jason is the football player, I liked them the best. Second best, was the actor whose name escapes me right now and I am too lazy to go back and look it up - but he had a great attitude and was charming in his way. Julianne will definitely be the first or second to go, too bad they couldn't have paired her with the actor whose name escapes me, at least he is trying really hard. Well, if she is eliminated, she will have an opportunity to come back to dance a time or two. I was disappointed to see Helio in the audience. I don't dislike him, but I don't give two hoots about him either. Shouldn't Apolo have a break after the season and maybe time to learn ONE new dance??? He has only fulfilled his contractual appearances and nothing more. Which I think is a bit suspect about where A & J's relationship or association may have veered off center. I won't hold my breath but it would be so much fun to see them dance again. Did someone say Zack was in the audience? Pretty certain they are a couple again. I hated Julianne's dress last night. Thought Edyta's correography was very good. Looking forward to Derek and Mark tonight, I hope those two last to the finals. Mark will be entirely different with Kristi - don't think we'll see much forhead kissing. There is something about him that doesn't set well with me. Derek on the other hand is almost as interesting as Julianne, at least his dance ability. I'm rambling thoughts here.
East coasters have MY permission to post since we are no where near tense eliminations, but please refrain from using names for a couple hours.

There will only be one season four. Truer words were never spoken! There's only one Apolo. Sigh. The ladies impressed me tonight. In fact, I think if they hadn't decided to eliminate one man and one woman in the first week, it would be two men going home first. Kristi's ballet training for skating really showed up tonight. Didn't know who Melissa was before this, but she's adorable. Go ladies!

In one word, Kristi was elegant. (excuse my spelling). I only got to catch the three last dances, but wow! Finally some strong ladies. Man Monica looks tall! I didn't get to catch her.

I was completely surprised by Priscilla Presley! She was quite theatrical and engaging! Loved that her daughter was in the audience rooting for her. Kristi was absolutely fabulous but I would think all her years dancing on the ice would have trained her in extension, drama and grace, but she was really good. I wonder if Apolo called in and voted for her or is texting her now about her great performance. And I love how Mark mentioned Apolo's name in the first meeting/rehearsal footage. I see other former winners on the show, but they don't even mention Apolo and he's the BEST competitor and champion they've ever had. He elevated that show to new heights and I still miss seeing him with that big infectious smile at the top of the stairs each week -- and then him blowing my doors off. But, it's fun just watching and not frantically voting for someone.
Let the games begin!

Ladies Night! Here's my take: Shannon - What I saw in Shannon was a girl dancing. Neither bad nor good. Just a girl dancing. Derek on the other hand was cute as a bug! I hope she steps up her game if for no other reason but to keep him in the contest longer. Monica - My heart went out to her because I could tell how nervous she was. Maybe she'll feel stronger in the faster dances. Marissa - Her natural exuberance poured right through the screen. Strong dancer too. She's going to be around for a while. Pricilla - She was great! The death spiral was perfection. Kristi - Stunning! She carried herself like a professional ballroom dancer and earned every 9 she was given. Thank you Marky for giving a nod to Apolo Marlie - Very impressive! You don't have to hear the music if the song is in your soul. She's going to be fun to watch. Yep, I think a lady is taking home that ghastly trophy this time.

Maybe there will be a slight chance Apolo will show up on the show this season now that he has somewhat some free time. (here's hoping and wishing)

Well, I'm so happy to say my girl Kristi really delivered - and infinately more than I even expected. Speaking as someone who figure skated, it's a totally different ball game than dancing- but the good posture and extensions help (a lot of skaters can't dance all that well- some are naturals) But like Apolo, it's her competitive drive to win and to train until her feet drop off that gives her the edge. She will practice it until it's perfect, and will accept nothing less. Absolutely stunning. I agree August, Pricilla was the surprise of the night. Proving once again that age is mind over matter...If you don't mind...it doesn't matter. She really stepped up. Is it me? or did a lot of the women seem kinda klutzy.... Let's hope they stay in long enough to improve.

I agree with everyone. Kristi was definitely the best last night. No surprise there. She looked so elegant! Priscilla really impressed me too. I thought she would be pretty good, but she was better than I expected. Marissa is a little firecracker! I like her a lot. I really enjoyed watching Marlee. I thought she was great! Shannon was ok, but she needs to loosen up a bit. I think Monica will be the first lady to go.
