LOL Oopps, I just noticed 2/3 of the emoties are gone on my bar. I wonder if Lindsey is having problems with the site again. (I'd put up the shruggie guy, but apparently if I click on him- I'm just going to be rolling my eyes at everyone....) As for what yours are showing Number1, I'll have to go back to some of your posts to see if they're goofy.

I just sent this PM to Number1, but I'll post it here too, if it'll help... All the smilies show up in my posts as PICTURED on my choices board (as far as I know), but the LABELS on the following ones appear to be wrong: ;)labeled as wink; pictured as 2 smilies piggyback 8-)labeled as cool; pictured as smilie face rolling back & forth labeled as huh; pictured as banging head against wall ::)labeled as Roll Eyes; pictured as shrug labeled as tongue; pictured as wink & thumbs up :-Xlabeled as Lips Sealed; pictured as 2 smilies hugging :-*labeled as Kiss; pictured as a big cheesy grin with hearts All the others seem to be accurately labeled. Did the ones I posted above show up for you here as LABELED, or did they show up as I what I describe SEEING... ? I've always assumed that what's PICTURED is correct, 'cause that's what I see when I post on the board. Also, Mtnme, I don't recall seeing any confusing smilies in your posts. That 'piggyback' one, though, pops up in people's posts at weird times - I assume they think it's gonna show up as a wink... still trying to figure out what it's supposed to be - Brokeback Bubbles? (intended as a shrug)

I think it is about time a woman took that ugly mirrored ball trophy home again—I’ll be very surprised if that doesn’t happen this year because not only do I expect the women to be overall better dancers, but I think the show has cast some female celebs that are very likable…notably Kristi and Marlee. Kristi: Love, love, love her-- beautiful and elegant. Very deserving of the highest scored week 1 performance on DwtS history. I just hope the no big improvement arc won’t cause their undoing. And I think I put my finger on what it was that didn’t sit well with me about Mark…Sabrina—maybe not Sabrina herself, but the partnership/the combination of the two of them. Marlee: Impressive! I love her attitude and she seems pretty funny: “I am profoundly deaf…but I sleep well!” It was also pretty touching to see her interpreter wipe a tear from his eye after she had finished dancing. Shannon: She did as well as I expected, though I spent most of the time focusing and cringing at the awful rendition of “Shut Up and Drive” rather than her actual dance. I hope she sticks around mainly because I want Derek around. Priscilla: Surprisingly good, but how will she emote? Her face is incapable of showing any emotion…step away from the botox, people! Monica: Oh, Monica, Monica. I love her from her tennis days, but unfortunately I think she’ll be the first woman gone in that first double elimination night. She was never known for her elegance and great foot-work on the tennis court, but I didn’t expect her to be that klutzy/awkward. Marissa: I want to like her…I really do, but I think her over-exuberance will start to irk quickly. She seemed distracted by her own excitement so much that at one point she missed the choreography. Which brings me to this—Tony, that was not a cha-cha-cha, and what was up with the sparkly pleather pants?!?! The Guys: Adam: Oh my…not as horrendous as I expected dance-wise, but if he’d shut up during rehearsals (and during the judges comments) and focus maybe he’d receive a score that would not have prompted him to call Carrie Ann a b*tch. Totally inappropriate for that setting, and I want him gone…unfortunately though I think Penn will be the first of the men to leave during the double elimination night. Penn: Same as Adam in that he needs to stop interrupting the judges. I do sense, however, that Penn (unlike Adam) wants to be there and is putting in some effort. Kym and Julianne are in a similar boat here with their partners, but I feel more for Kym. Kym looked genuinely hurt and shocked at their scores—Julianne has her music career to pursue and I’d think she’d rather do that than be on the show anyway. Steve: Surprisingly very charming, but I hope the “oh, WOW, I’m on DwtS” attitude isn’t a weekly thing. Cristian: I was a bit disappointed simply because I think my expectations were high. I do think that Cheryl will work on the hunched shoulders issue and they’ll be better for it next week. These two look great together, and Cheryl seems happier with her partner than I have seen in awhile. Jason: I didn’t expect him to do so well, and be as fluid in his movements as he was. Though not as well known as Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith, Jason is a current football player (and a very good one at that) so I wonder how big his fanbase is and if it overlaps with the DwtS demographic—that coupled with his dancing could take him and Edyta far into the competition. Mario: No surprises there—I expected him to do well as he has prior experience with choreography…albeit not ballroom, but still! Mario and Karina 2.0 could do as well as the original version (Karina and Mario Lopez) and make it to the finals. isn't that mr rollseyes? ...the one i'm talking about is a bluish/green little guy with his arms out palms up, shaking his head in a 'i don't know' fashion. too wierd. Logged in or out, I see the same thing on Lori's post, but Lori is right, the top bar on the post page are labeled different just as Lori said.
Which could get really confusing for quests and lurkers, since they aren't logged in, they'll see something wierd that doesn't go with the post.
so now what, since it's not consistant for everyone? (Don't you just love computer glitches?...)
I'd post an emotie, but I have No Idea what will come up! LOL

It's usually what skin you are using. Some have the roll eyes twice, while i have shrug, and rolls eyes. I'm using the dark background because it's easiest on the eyes. Hope that helped some, sorry if I'm a little late.

I'm pretty excited about Kristi, being the figure skating fan that I am. Her lines, extension, hands were gorgeous. I hope they don't hold her figure skating background against her. Heck, Mario has more dance experience than Kristi. I was happy to see her competitive spirit kick in and look for them to go all the way. Maybe it was Mark with Sabrina because he was entirely different with Kristi, much more toned down. He is working with a real pro.
I didn't care for Marlee, Marissa, Priscella or Monica...so I hope that Shannon picks it up a notch each week because I sure do want to see Derek stay. I cannot take my eyes off that boys body when he is dancing. I have never seen anyone move their body the way he does.
My picks for the finals: Jason, Mario, Kristi...and Kristi gets to go home with the mirror ball this year. I sure hope Apolo makes an appearance since his season is over.

I think that Shannon will improve -- she's bound to with Derek as a partner. And is he looking especially hot this season, or what? I would like to see their chemistry improve, but that will come with time. Marlee -- I loved it when she gestured to the audience during the "get on your feet" lyrics. Great job! To me, Kristi is the one to beat. I still find Mark to be a turn-off in terms of personal appeal, but I do acknowledge his talent. Marissa just didn't connect with me. And I agree that Monica will be the first woman to go. As for Priscilla -- terrific dance, and a great role-model for older women -- but oh, my goodness, that has to be more than Botox going on there. I don't care what she says...it looks like at least one bad facelift to me. As for the guys...I missed Steve, Cristian, and Mario. I wouldn't mind seeing Penn stick around for a little bit, if for no other reason than I'm appreciating his sense of humor. Jason really surprised me -- I thought that he was quite good and very likable. He could go far. As for Adam, my initial estimate of a 5 week stay dropped down to 1 week. (...well, okay, maybe in the 1-3 range. But one week wouldn't surprise me.)

Sk8on, thanks for your recap. We are on vacation in Big Bend National Park, in west Texas and the hotel we are staying in has wi-fi (THANK YOU) but the cable TV has only limited viewing. We don't get CBS or NBC and the ABC channel is from California, so DWTS doesn't come on until 10:00. By that time I was so tired from our daytime excursions that I fell asleep. I did see the men's dancing and agree completely with you. I'm sorry now that I missed the ladies last night. I'm not sure that I will stay up tonight for the results.

I have been a total addict of this show right from the start. Even worse, I've watched every minute of the British version, Strictly... so of course I have strong opinions. For now my faves include Cristian (needs a frame adjustment but has a top teacher), Jason (so elegant.. reminds me of rugger Matt Dawson on Strictly.. tons of potential) Mario (talented and well matched with Karina who thinks she's won the lottery) Kristi (spectacular and paired with my favorite pro-teacher Marky Ballas) Marlee (inspiring and so hot.. just love Fabien too) and Shannon (Derek will make a dancer out of her. He is just adorable and he will make it happen.) All I have to do is imagine this group doing Jive and it all sorts out in my mind. I expect Monica and Adam to be gone. Why the producers decided to shoot down Julianne I will never understand. She is a spectacular dancer. Hmmm.. has to be a reason.
