That picture of Mark. He reminds me of Dan Hinote of my St. Louis Blues in that pic. Scary...

Oh Harsh!!! What Teases!!! Oh the Agony!!!! I'm Crying Foul!!!! ET announced that they had a 'secret' correspondant for DWTS that they would tell us at the end of the hour! Suddenly, my heart racing, my hope rising - " COULD IT BE !!!?? Could our Apolo be the secret correspondant they were alluding to?  ? Could the Gods be so kind, as to give us our Apolo fix - NIGHTLY???"  Sadly, no...the Gods were not in the mood to give me such a wonderful early birthday present.... The secret correspondant is - Helio.  As for the powers that be....YOU Sooooooo OWE ME - in SPADES!!!!!! |

My impressions.... my fave Jason is elegant and shows a perfect frame.. but can he let go enough to win more fans. Cristian has loads of performance and Cheryl thinks she's hit the jackpot. Mario is a hell of a dancer and cute as can be... I see him going way into this competition. Julianne has the absolute lst out loser so I guess she will have lots of time to promote the record. Marky and Derek just as adorable as ever... can't wait to see what they come up with tomorrow.

What can I say, not up there with the heavy hitters either, but I've so enjoyed everything I've seen him in, so I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt, just because. I thought Mario was the best. Jason has talent, but he needs to 'let go' and enjoy it. Steve, I love his smile.

The opening number with the pro dancers was fantastic! Derek and Mark still have the moves, and it's so great to see Louie back on the show...I love him! Tony, Jonathan, and Fabian looked good too. My fave last night was probably Mario. He looks like dancing just comes naturally to him. He can really move! Jason was good too. He is so cuuuute! Beautiful eyes! Cristian is HOT! But he really needs to work on his posture. Steve seems like a sweet, charming guy. I like him. Penn and Adam weren't quite as bad as I thought they would be. But I think one of them will be the first guy to go. I'm looking forward to the ladies tonight.  By the way Butterfly, great avi and sigie! Another hit from Lindsey! Thanks, mtnme! Lindsey's great! |

Yeah, last night was just okay. I enjoyed the videos getting to know the guys, since I really wasn't familiar with any of them much. Of course, I don't exactly "know" them now. They all seem nice, but I'm reading rumors of bad things. I should avoid the DWTS board! Anyway, Steve G. struck me as really sincere and unexpectedly delightful. Kind of like Mark Cuban. You want him to stay around because he seems like a great guy, even if you know he's not going to win this thing.
Adam wasn't as bad as I feared. I was a little surprised at the 5's, especially since Penn managed to get a 6 from Len, and I thought Adam did at least as well. I'm glad he seems to be keeping away from the crude humor around Julianne. I thought it was so cute when Samantha was interviewing them (no, not Samantha... still ugh) and Adam said Julianne's not going to have a three-peat and she can go promote her country album soon. Then Julianne turned away from the camera laughing. I just found it endearing.
Mario's interview also stands out. I was surprised that Samantha asked him about his previous dance experience and I was (unexpectedly) impressed at his answer. I can see how he'd feel that being taught choreography for rap videos is not akin to formal dance training. Still, it's clear he has natural rhythm and movement. Will be interesting to see how he does in a formal ballroom dance next week, as opposed to the cha cha. He was sweeter than I expected.
LOVED the pros opening number. Yeah, Louis!
