Hey Angelina, I didn't know you were here recently! Northstar is one of my favorite places to ski. (Also did a moonlight snowshoe hike there, which was amazing!) Lilyover70. Well, yes, living up here is wonderful and I do have a rather nice life. Just wish I had more free time...well, all good things in time! Angelina and Mtnme, we've skied Northstar too... fond memories of being there with family members. We've skied all of the larger ski resorts in the Tahoe basin, including Kirkwood. The favorite places for fantastic views (from the top of the mountain) is Heavenly and Alpine Meadows. Mtnme, we've never tried snow-shoeing; it must be a lovely experience, especially in the moonlight! I have done cross-country skiing (novice), another peaceful experience!

Beautiful fall pics, mtnme! I have such fond memories of Northstar from our recent trip to Tahoe (in March). And yep, the kids keep asking to go back. Hey Angelina, I didn't know you were here recently! Northstar is one of my favorite places to ski. (Also did a moonlight snowshoe hike there, which was amazing!) Yep ... my sister got married in Reno, so we split our time between Reno and Tahoe. It was a great trip, and I'm befuddled that our kids would actually like to go back to Reno/Tahoe on our next trip, instead of to Disneyland. No offense, but I'm surprised!

Yesterday, the Special Olympics athletes were treated to a day on the pier at Santa Monica. We didn't go but our daughter and family went; there were all sorts of games and activities for the *special* athletes and families. Our *special* grandson got to meet and shake the hand of Governor Schwarzenegger! It was quite a thrill for our grandson, who promptly called his older brother (at college) and told him of the *meet and greet*. The Governor and First Lady spent time to interact with these *special athletes* ;D

I didn't really like him much but he's so sweet to do that. Your grandson must have been thrilled.

awesome pics, Jenna! I love the deer in your backyard! Thanks Angelina. They are beautiful creatures, those deer. I love the little babies. My neighbor always has food for them and we always look out the window. Thanks Number1. It has changed but that picture was taken when my dad already mowed the lawn and raked the leaves. So you can't see them on the ground. sorry..

Nice photos jenna, guess everything hasn't turned yet where you're at. Love the deer and beach pics. Kokanee Salmon are spawning here this time of year. They turn vivid colors, but unfortunately, I believe that means they are about to go to that big pond in the sky.

Those pictures are beautiful, Michelle. Why do they die when they change that color? That's so sad..

Boston reporting in....GO SOXXXXXXXXX!!!!!!!!!! The salmon pictures are beautiful; I've never seen pix of them. THe water is so crystal clear that it looks like they are floating on air, or sitting on rocks. Thanks for posting! It was 69 today in Boston (did I say GO SOXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX? ) Fall foliage is peaking this next season. Where have I been outside of my hometown? Colleged in Indiana, jr. year abroad in Madrid. Business trips: several months in Salt Lake City in 2002, Tallahassee (10 months in 2004), Colorado Springs, Atlanta, Scotland, New Mexico. Am jealous of all going to SLC. IT is an absolutely gorgeous area. If you are there on extended time, make sure you go up to Park City, maybe do some skiing... Linda

Wow, everybody's pics are so beautiful. I'm not only impressed with where y'all live / visit, but what great photographers you are!
Mtnme, I love scenic / nature photos, and I have a 'gallery' of seasonal pics that I change out every few months - it's time for some new fall photos - 'mind if I cop a few of yours???

Here are some pics I took at sunrise today from our deck and one from another place in town. There were no clouds at all - what you're seeing is purely smoke.
