cin...thanks for posting your pics of the falls...i highly recommend at least one visit there in your lifetime. mother nature at one of her best. my family visited there maybe 10-15 years ago to the canadian side... we took the 'maid of thie mist' boat trip. what an awesome experience...the sheer power of the falls is truly amazing!
girl...and look at all your tats...uh huh! I got more tats too...........you can't see them. Love this pic, number1. When you are looking up from the railing down at the maid of the mist boat, it looks lika a cigar floating. It is truly amazing.

I live in bear country, and see them around the house from time to time, along with other critters. My friend who lives in your basic "suburbia" down in Reno however, isn't used to this. The hills behind her house went up in flames this summer, so the animals that survived have been displaced. As you can see by the photo, she came home to a bear in her driveway! She has several apple trees in her front yard, so her house has become the local "buffet" for the deer and bears in the area. Needless to say, She doesn't venture outside much at night for fear of running into this guy.

OMG, now that is scary!!!!!! Believe it or not, there have been a couple in our area, in the country of course and can't be found. Don't they just crash the house too? ?

That must be scary for her. If a bear came near my house I'll probably move..I would stay in the house also.

lily and ohnoagain, thanks for the beautiful pics. ohnoagain, coincidentally, my parents visited Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) last week. I have yet to see their pics, but they said they had a great time. I hope to make it there one day! Angelina, that's great. I'm glad they had a great time, I can't wait to see you post some pics of theirs. And when you come, you've got a friend here to show you around!!!!!!!

Interesting pic, mtnme. I can't imagine coming home to a bear ... especially right in suburban Reno. Yikes!

Mtnme, that bear photo was awesome... in Reno, no less! I hope we don't run into much bear population when we get to South Tahoe in mid-January.... even at Mammoth in late February. A couple of decades ago, there was a resident coyote on Mammoth Mountain, right on one of the big ski runs! Skiers named him *Henry*!

They're usually well into hibernation by then. They're very active in the fall, especially when we have a long Indian Summer--they're getting "fattened up" before the Big Snooze!

Yup, that's happened up here too! Somehow I always get a "visual" of the guy in there with a glass of wine in his paw! One of my clients not only had the bear, but when he was done apparently the racoons followed. What a mess!....
