Ohnoagain... that is a beautiful photo, both the Falls and you! That must be the US side of the Falls. We were there about 8 years ago, on the Canadian side, and we wondered how *your* Falls would look up close.... so now I know... THANKS! All of my photos of Niagra Falls and also of beautiful Nova Scotia (where Lexi lives) were taken with *film* camera so I can't post any, until I scan and upload them. That would be a daunting job, considering how many photos I took in Canada, from British Columbia to Nova Scotia! Thanks again for sharing!

Thankyou Lily, yes, that is the NY side, although I could walk right over to the Canadian side in a few minutes, but even walking, you have to show proof. The Canadian side is more beautiful, I have to admit though, due to NY high taxes and all, they don't keep it up like they should, it's looking better, but has a long way to go. Marie Osmond was here the weekend before she fainted, I didn't go though.

Here's another view. This isn't actually the Falls, but a mini version leading up to it.

This is actually just the downward drop of the falls with a far lens. See the pressure of the water. It truly is amazing!!!!! Last picture, promise.

Lily, your sunset & sunrise pics and the pics of the eagles are fantastic. I live near a river here in PA and I saw an eagle there once--it was incredible and beautiful. Ohnoagain, your pics of the Falls are great! I would love to visit there someday. And, btw, it looks like you have some really cool tattoos.

Ohnoagain! Your pictures are amazing! Feel free to post away- that's what the thread is here for. There is no such thing as too much beautiful scenery. Might I also say, you are looking "mighty fine" for a gramma! Apolo would be pleasantly surprised to take a spin around the dance floor with this one!

Thanks all for the compliments on my pics of the Falls. And thanks mtnme for the best compliment of all, hmm, I wish Apolo would spin me around............don't worry, keeping it clean. And yes, butterfly, I have 6 tattoos, want a couple more. On my arm, you can see half, but that's my daughter's face, with angel wings and maybe you can make out God's Hands underneath. That one is my pride and joy.

lily and ohnoagain, thanks for the beautiful pics.
ohnoagain, coincidentally, my parents visited Niagara Falls (the Canadian side) last week. I have yet to see their pics, but they said they had a great time. I hope to make it there one day!

Cindy, I love your picture. It didn't even occur to me that, of course, you have the Falls in your back doorstep too. Aren't the Falls about the most beautiful sight you've seen? I was there last year for the second time and had a blast. Did you take the Maid of the Mist (or is that only for Canadians?) That was a mind blowing experience! My only disappointment was how commercialized they've made 'our side'. You have a gorgeous site like that and just beyond it it's part amusement park / part tacky tourist shops. If you do get to 'this side', you must see Niagara on the Lake. There are simply no words....
Lily, I'd love to see your pics whenever they're ready. You can never get enough of Niagara Falls! I'm so glad your experience in Canada was a great one. It seems like you enjoyed yourself.

Lexi... when we stood right at the railing there at the top of the Canadian Falls, the force of the water tumbling down was mind-boggling... really mesmerizing! When we were driving around Cape Breton, we stopped at a roadside rest area. I was greeted by a beautiful fox... it just sat there (looking at me) about 20 feet away as I shot about 10 photos. I've got to locate those photos one of these days and scan it... then I'll be able to post it here. We love going to Canada... and hope to keep going back!

I'm so glad your experience in Canada was a great one. It seems like you enjoyed yourself. Lexi, New York side isn't as "amusement parkish" as Canada is. I can actually walk to Canada from NY, it's fun, one minute you're in one country, step back, you're in another. However, even walking over, you have to go through customs. We do have the "Maid of the Mist" on our side too. Also "Cave of the Winds" where you can walk behind the Falls, you get soaking wet but it's fun. It's gorgeous at Christmas, when they light it up and the tree's are frozen around there. Believe it or not, I think there are as many tourists during Christmas as during some summer months. I'll go up there and get some shots if you would all like to see it decorated for Christmas. Niagara on the Lake is about 40 minutes from me, but I've never been there, don't ask me why??? But, I plan on going. It's a pain to cross the Peace Bridge since 9/11, I understand why, but it takes 2 hours sometimes. Number1, love your shot of the Falls too. It surely is a wonder. Hope Apolo comes here.
