That's beautiful, Mtnme! I love the fall. I like the water going down the rocks. I like the effect it has! ;D Even more do I love the sound of rushing water. Oh to have a waterfall in my yard!

LOL! On our one and only trip to Tahoe we came in from the north and 'Fanny Bridge' was our very first stop! (We were trying to find out why everyone was leaning over the dang bridge.)

I had sent these to my Mountain 'Sista', mtnme, and she suggested I post them here... They are pic's from the mountain where I live in Colorado... This is from my deck this past summer, during the daily afternoon thunderstorms...looking east towards Denver...not sure if that's the moon, or a sunspot...I prefer to think it is the moon rising! Note this was taken with a disposable camera...Not bad! For a change of pace... This was taken last winter, when we got 2-3 feet of snow every week, for 3 weeks running! I had to dig a trail in my driveway so my DD, Tuscany, had a place to do her business!

Mtnme - Lake Tahoe looks as gorgeous as I'd imagined it was. You must wake up everyday and pinch yourself. I know I would! Toehold4 - How lucky are you to live among the mountains of Colorado?! I can't believe you get the gorgeous view from your deck! I thought I'd include a few pictures from my recent visit to Rome. We did the "Caesar Shuffle" from the Colosseum to the Roman Forum to Capital Hill to the Pantheon, onward to Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and, finally, Vatican City - St. Peter's Square. Phew! I didn't even know this thread was here till yesterday when mtnme told me to post my pic's...I just went back and read/looked at the whole thread...WOW!!!
There are some great pic's here and peole live in and/or visit some great places!!!
Thanks, mtnme...for starting this thread, and then directing me to it!!! You Rock, Mountain Sista!!! Karma for you!!! A few comments, though I enjoyed them all...
Lexi...I never realized Nova Scotia was so mountainous...you have the best of both worlds...mountains and the ocean! Lucky You!!
Don't remember now who posted the pic's of those gardens in BC... going on my list of places to see...beautiful!! lilyover70..loved all your pic's...I'm a birder, so love the eagles!! I work in the field of Developmental Disabilities...it does my heart VERY GOOD to see your grandson and the pride on his face! SO was intended to give folks a REAL opportunity to compete, grow, and discover the possiblities...that is a wonderful mission!! I know that SO is a tremendous source of pride for many with DD, and pride is not something often experienced by people with DD, if ever! SO is also branching out with something called Unified Sports, where people with disabilities have the opportunity to compete on teams with so called 'normal' folks!! That is a very positive step in my mind...BTW, not only Arnold, but Maria Shriver's mother Eunice, and the Kennedy's STARTED Special Olympics!!! Stepping off the soapbox...
mtnme...love the bear pic...they're around up here where i live, but i've only seen one...My close call was a couple of years ago, when they tried to break into my garage...I was bad, and long overdo to take my garbage to the dump...they ripped a couple of panels off my garage door trying to break in...Inever heard a thing, but was a little freaked the next morning... I learned my lesson!!!
Thanks, everyone for sharing!!!

Lexi, the pictures of Rome were gorgeous. I hope to visit Italy one day as I am 100% Italian, I should go see where my ancestors came from, although I am Sicilian, I would love to go to there as well. I'm glad you had a great time, and until I can hopefully get there, you brought it to me, thanks. And thanks to all, the pictures were beautiful. Kind of makes you forget, while in your own backyard, there is a whole world out there to explore.

Lori, happy to solve the "mystery" for you! Lexi,AMAZING photos. I know Rome is crazy, but WOW!! the Architecture!!! I would be in heaven! toehold4my mountain "sista"! Thanks for the karma and posting the pics. Isn't this thread incredible? I just want to take off and travel to ALL these places! I still want to go back again to Estes Park, still one of my favorite places in the world. There is an incredible hike in Rocky Mountain National Park that I loved doing regularly- but the name excapes me at the moment but I bet I could still find my way there. Just love the river walk in Estes, and certainly, The Stanley Hotel! Ahhh the memories.... Just to get you all into that Holiday spirit coming up on us soon... This is taken at the Tahoe Tree Company- the plant nursery to end all plant nurserys. I Love this place! Beautiful grounds, great store, incredible deli AND you can do wine tasting there as well! What more could you want?!

To anyone living in Utah or that has visited, one of my favorite things in life is closing my eyes and putting in my CD of my all time favorite Chistmas songs "The Mormon Tabernacle Choir". Has anyone seen them perform in person, and how is it?? I would love anyones experience with this, as this has always been one of my dreams, to see them sing live.

And I also want to spend Christmas in NYC. I live only about 5 hours drive from New York City, so that can be a reality maybe next year. I want to see the Rockettes, The lighting of the Christmas tree, the skaters, shopping on 5th avenue, and a carriage ride through Central Park. I've been to NYC twice, but want to experience the Christmas season there. Anyone ever done that???

Has anyone seen them perform in person, and how is it?? I would love anyones experience with this, as this has always been one of my dreams, to see them sing live. I see you're planning to go to the World Cup in February - too bad you're not going in December. You could put your headphones on and walk through Temple Square with the Christmas decorations up! I haven't heard the choir, but I've seen Temple Square at Christmastime - breathtaking! Maybe something is going on in February (but obviously it won't be Christmas music) - here's their official link... www.mormontabernaclechoir.org/events/And I also want to spend Christmas in NYC. Do you remember Charles Kuralt? He was the 'traveling' reporter for CBS for YEARS, and a few years before he died he wrote a book about spending an entire year traveling the U.S. and spending one month in each place at its best. He chose New York City for December! The book is entitled "Charles Kuralt's America", and it's always been a dream of mine to re-create the journey... After serving 37 years as a reporter at CBS, Kuralt retired and set out on a trip to see his favorite American locations at their best. During the course of a year, he traveled across the country and stopped, for example, at Charleston, South Carolina, for the azaleas in March and Woodstock, Vermont, for the fall colors in October. In this journal, the author records the people, places, and pets he encountered. One of the most interesting chapters in the book is the final one, set in Manhattan, Kuralt's hometown, in December.Toehold and Mtnme - can I come live with you? I'm living vicariously through y'all. I've always been a 'Rocky Mtn High' wannabe... Toehold, you freakin' wake up to that view every single day??? Do you live anywhere near Grand Lake and Rocky Mtn NP? Lexi - I'm so glad you had a great trip - those pics are wonderful! Our son traveled quite a bit in Italy a few years ago, and if I had to choose one European country to visit, I think it would be Italy.
