Awww, Ty, I'll keep you, your daughter and your son in my prayers. When do you find out about your daughter's tests? Hopefully there's a simple explanation...and as for your son getting kicked out of preschool for taking his shirt off - all I can say is that somebody in that school has lost his/her mind... ------------------------------ Can I just say that I appreciate the fact that people here share the bad as well as the good, and that people are so willing to support each other. You know, one year ago I had never posted online, ANYWHERE - I had always had the attitude that people with 'virtual' friends must not have a Real Life, and back then I would have laughed at anyone who said I would soon be referring to people I met online as 'friends'. But now all I see is a beautiful array of people with interesting, full lives, all woven into one rich tapestry of caring, friendship and fun. And to think it all started with a common interest in one very 'un'common young man.

I've never posted until only 4 months ago and I think I have met more kind and caring and lovng people than I have in a decade. No kidding. You are all ... Simply the Best ... Better than All the Rest. (Tina Turner) I use to be able to dance like her until I hurt my back and neck.

Thanks for all the support everyone! I really needed the smiles.
Lori- I have made many many amazing cyber friends- and would never consider any of them to be anything less than a "real" friend.
I appreciate all the thoughts- and for those of you wondering, my daughter's results should be in tomorrow. (I hope).

Tynormem, as a nurse, I worked in a pediatric office for almost 5 years. We saw many patients with anemia, and I would say 99.9% were nothing major. I am hoping and praying your daughter is fine.

I'd love to meet many (actually most) of the people I've met in my short online life...Yup, you're all quite 'real' to me! Ty, please let us know what happens with your daughter - I hope Ohnoagain's post gave you some comfort that things are likely to be okay...

Thanks everyone. Sorry to keep you all in suspense for so long. She is fine! Her iron level is very low and it will take soem time to get it back up to normal limits. The only other test that didn't come back normal was her lead test and that showed a slight elevation. It didn't concern me much so we are just going to retest in a month to be sure it has gone down a bit. The same thing happend to both my boys at about this age and the retest showed no elevation- we are hoping that will be the case for our daughter as well. But just to make you all worry some more- my poor little girl spent nearly 6 hours in the ER last night after having her left hand slammed in the door. She is OK, no breaks, just some bad bruises, 3 missing fingernails and lots of blood. She is going to her ped. tomorrow for new dressings and to be sure there is no infection. It has been a long few weeks around here.

Poor baby, I'm very happy that everything came back well with her blood tests. The wait can be scary, I know. I'm sorry to hear about her hand. It's hard when kids get hurt or sick, that's for sure.

Oh my gosh, poor baby!!!! I bet it hurt you as much (if not worse) than it hurt her. How dreadful! I got my hand slammed into a car door when I was a kid and it was the same thing - nothing broken, just bruises. I went on to play the flute and the piano. I'm sure she'll be fine, but it must be just heart wrenching watching her go through it.
Hang in there, Mom-Tyn! One thing about kids is that they are amazingly resilient.
*hugs you*

It has been a while since I could get on here and read, neve mind post. I have a few minutes today.
I am so busy with college, and of course my kids have activities. My oldest has basketball and Sunday school (CCD), my middle boy has karate and storytime with my daughter going to storytime too. Then fit in all my dr. appointments (I'll spare the details, but I haven't been well) and I have been beat.
I hope all you moms are having an easier stretch than I have been. I think about you all!

Awww, Ty, I'm sorry to hear you've been having a rough time of it. I saw your post on the other thread and I had just PM'd you to find out why you've been gone so long, but I guess this explains it. Chin up! Things will get better...

I rarely get on this thread, -'cause hey--, I'm not a Mom.
...But tynormem, I'm was so sad to hear you have not been well. College and kids on top of that- no wonder you're beat! You are in my thoughts and prayers- you have really had a rough time of it lately.
Be well and take care of yourself! mtnme

I wasn't sure if I should mention it, but my family went to a funeral last week for my cousin's baby. She was just 4-1/2 months old and died in her sleep. I immediately thought it was SIDS, but the actual cause is unknown. It was really sad - the first funeral I've been to for a baby, I think. Such a tiny casket, and she was buried with a little stuffed bunny. *sniff*
Afterward I counted my blessings again and again that my kids are thus far healthy and happy.
