I am not a single mom, but I feel like it most days. My husband works 2d or 3d shift and sleeps all day. I can relate, my husband is in school full time and working full time, so I hardly see him. But he graduates in 4 months! Yay! Yeah I hear you! I go to college FT (I am off for the summer) and he works OT each week- during the school year we never see each other. It is not easy, but worth the struggles! Congratultions to your dh for being almost done with school! ;D

Just want to ask how are all the mommas doing? Summer going good for you?
Missy, glad that your daughter's vision is improving. What type of problem does she have with her eyes?
Ty, whats your major? Its good you have the summer off, my hubby doesn't. Right now he's been on a 3 wk break. Its been nice having him home more. But its almost over, he goes back to school next week and then its back to hardly seeing him again. Yeah you're right, it will be worth it in the end.

LOL Well it sounds like you fit in here, you're talking about your sons right? If not then you're still welcome in here. I know if my kids were always driving my car I'd make it a rule to pay for their own gas. No gas, no car. If they want the car bad enough, they'll pay. Or maybe they could get their own cars.

I got a few years before they drive but life is never dull.Natalie is taking a nap and Larissa is in the backyard.Lisa, to answer your question about Larissa's eyes she has been given four different diagnosis and I can't remember them all off the top of my head, the eye muscle has made her eye wander, she is cross eyed, very far sighted in fact more than most people and I can't think of the other one.

I could have taken more summer classes, but I wanted to be able to do more with the kids. It is hard trying to fit fun in with me going to school in the day and my husband going to work at night. We have had a great summer. We went to the zoo yesterday and tomorrow my kids are being Baptised and we are having a huge BBQ after with lots of food and cake. (I may just eat cake! ) Next week we have even more planned- mini golf, the lake, a birthday party and a wedding.

I'm sorry I already asked what your major was a couple of pages back, I feel like an idoit. Going to the zoo sounds fun, I'd like to do that with my kids but its too hot, poor animals. Have fun at your BBQ and all the other things that you have planned.

lisa- do not feel like an idiot. I didn't even recall you asking me before...
One of the benefits of living in New England is that the hottest days are limited to a handful or two a year. Of course, we have to deal with cold, snow and ice more days than we can think about having nice weather!

Tyn, holy cow, you are ambitious! Glad to see you're enjoying all the best summer has to offer. What a wealth of interesting, busy Moms we have here! It's amazing how you figure out ways to make it all work - school, career, parenting, marriage, etc.. I think Mom's are the most resourceful people on the planet. *Salutes all Moms on the board*

Bella, I kind of have to be ambitious. The kids have a whole list of wants for me, so does my husband, and of course I have my own list for myself. I try to do as much as possible to keep everyone happy! The Baptism went really well today. Not one meltdown before or during, but my daughter had a huge fit at our party after. She has a major issue with my brother- and he was there. We are not sure what her problem is with him, but she cries whenever he is around. I feel bad for him- he loves her so much. We are taking tomorrow to recover, and then we start our super busy week next week.

ok...now that i have totally exposed myself in the 'meet the members' thread... i can post freely here i have 2 daughters (25 & 22) both have finished their chosen higher education. the eldest received a B.S. in criminal justice but is now a manager at a well-known restaurant (she sure knows what she's doing!)...her next step is the regional manager position. the youngest finished a year-long cosmotology course at a very reputable academy...she has to take her state exams, get certified...then she has an apprentice position waiting for her at a very high-end salon in the westside. (she definitely has an 'eye' and talent for cutting/coloring hair). they fought w/each other everyday until my oldest turned 16... and now they are best friends. all you young moms out there...the age between 14-19ish is hell on earth. (very trying years)...it's like who are these people? just remember they have to act up like that in order to become caring/responsible/self-reliant adults. as you can see they are my pride and joy. ummm...apolo? i'd LOVE to be your mother-in-law.
