I like rain, but i hate severe thunderstorms. Those are the ones we typically get in the spring. Those are the ones with hail, straightline winds or tornadoes.

OOOOHHH I am MAD! Iowa got word this week that president Bush is not going to give us federal aid because 75 million dollars in damage is not enough.

That's horrible! 75 million dollars is not enough?!
I live in Nebraska, and we have a pretty nasty storm season as well. My family had a very scary experience in June when a twister (it never quite touched down) pretty much passed over our house. The same thing happened to my grandparents on their farm, except they had way more damage. One of their sheds was completely destroyed.
Anyway, no storms recently. It's been hot and pretty quiet around here...

Yeah, none of the funnel clouds touched down. I was talking to my friend (the one I like) and he said that he saw a wallcloud with 2 funnel clouds in it. We are VERY lucky!

Wow, you really live in a hot spot for tornadoes, don't you?

Yeah I do! Normally when there are storms, there are 3-4 tornado warnings.

That has to make you nervous! Here we're usually just in severe thunderstorm warnings, everyone's more worried about hail because crops can be so easily destroyed. Whenever there are bad storms in NE, though, and the weather stations show national maps, it's always WAY nastier in Iowa...

I have gotten used to it. We had baseball sized hail a couple miles from my house.
