So was his mother caucasian? And what was the deal there? I think I read that his mother left his father when Apolo was a baby? I am surprised there is not woman jumping up claiming to be his mother.

yeah I know what you mean about the "coming out the woodwork" part...happened to Shaq as well, his dad cam eout the woodwork back in the late 90's...
As far as the mixed heritage thing, sometimes when he smiles, he looks Hawaiian, but then again that's Japanese ancestry too so go figure...

I love when he smiles and mostly when he talks and mostly when he talks....his lower lip like comes out or goes down....i don't know but it looks good!!!!

Yea, in that video the Japanese lady asked in English if he spoke Japanese. He answered with "sukoshi" which means a little in Japanese. I'm sure he used to speak it when he was younger but has lost a lot of it, I mean, he lives in the olympic training center where I'm sure it's rarely used. In terms of him looking more caucasian than asian I can't say. When he stands next to caucasian people or asian people he seems to fit in yet stand out at the same time. And I find that when an intermarriage occurs with caucasians and asians the caucasian gene comes out more dominant. Look at Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son. He doesn't look Asian at all.

Really? I'm fully Asian and looking at Devon I never once though she was all Asian. The only Asian part I saw in her were her eyes. Other than that I thought she looked pretty much caucasian. But hey, that's just me. I never knew Bruce Lee was half caucasian. Amazing...learn something new everyday.

When I looked at Devon, I could tell she was Japanese, now sometimes depending on her picture she looks mixed. And then also it depends on what Asian group you are mixed with, most of the time, Pacific Islanders always look more Asian, even if they are half-white....PM for more info if you want it...there's a website you can check this out for yourself....... |

im half japanese half white and i totally look it. but my eyes too often change their shade of brown. maybe its a japanese-y thing? hahaha. but yeah. japanese is like a sexy language in general. :] ahaha. mixed japanese and white guys are HOT!! :]
