What were you doing on the board at 2:15 in the morning, Taryn? Didn't you have anything better to do? well apolo stopped by my place and one thing led to another..you know how it is....sorry taryn..needless to say i was exhausted the next morning... |

ha ha! you guys crack me up!!
well, it may have been 2:15 am on the messag boards, but it was still early here in Hawaii! it must have been around 9 or 10 here...
and laura!! shame shame on you!! there are youngsters in here!!
anyways, guys...i'm off for a little vacation (no joke)...so i won't be visiting for a while. i'll be flying to LA to join a certain SOMEone...anybody want an autographed bandana, or remnants of soul patch hair from the bathroom sink?
(just kidding, i'm going to Kona for a week!)

Aargh! Thanks for the heads up, Maria.
I ran over and tried to check it out, but that page is so busy that it takes forever to load on my old, rickety computer.
I may have to wait till I get back to work on Monday. Or just try again when I'm feeling more patient.

I have posted this before on another forum. I saw Apolo I think it was in the summer of 2002 in Colorado at a mall. He was making a personal appearance for one of him sponsors. He was very young and looked quite different than he does now, but still stunning and gorgeous. He has this amazing smile that captivates. He was heavier than he is now and his hair was longer, fuller, wavy and curly. Just beautiful and shiny! He still was carrying some of that "BAD BOY" image, but I relagated that to his youth and inexperience, because after all he was an Olympic gold medalist. He was very nice and friendly to the public and the little "teeny boopers" were wild for him. His chrisma was electric even then he seems to literally draw people in, and I was very impressed by him. He had several people around him, and I assumed they were his handlers.
My son and Apolo are the same age, and thier actions, and demeaner at that time were similar. They were just bordering on manhood.

Well, since the last post here is July 2007 and refers to a sighting in Colorado...I'll no a little Nationals 2007 Encounter for you.
As I entered the Oval on the 2nd or 3rd day, I was heading up the stairs in the entry foyer of the Oval, he was coming down and low-fived my left hand. Actually, it was more like a hand "hug". Nice grin. I think he was glad to see the nice turn out for Nationals. And I might add he was always nicely turned out before, during, and after the races.
