Got a reply this morning on my request for AmCup tickets:
We will need an e-mail with your name, address, phone number and number of tickets you want. Then Mark Schmid will sent you an e-bill and you will pay using Pay Pal. You tickets will be on hold at the rink check in and ticket sales area and you will pick them up the day of the event.
Make sure that rather than saying 'X tickets', you specify 'X for Saturday' and 'X for Sunday'.
They are talking about clearing the arena between the Gopher Open and AmCup, and I asked Greg to confirm whether or not those of us with AmCup tickets will be allowed to stay (I may have misunderstood him on that), or at the very least, if we can leave our blankets and such so that we don't have to jockey for seats again when the doors open for AmCup.
EDIT: If you want these advance tickets, I think you're gonna have to open a Paypal account. I've had one for years, and have had absolutely no problems with it.

No kidding Mtnme. How is it they are "based here, best here" in my area and our rates are always higher. Boo Hoo and bummer; but good for you guys. I stick with American coming and going, best rates I can find.

I'm so excited - I was able to work it out at work and I'm going to Vancouver! I got tickets and I still need to book a room. I'm so excited to see Apolo flying on that ice again.
WOO HOO!

Have fun everybody at the AmCup. Does anybody know if we are allowed to bring a laptop to the Oval? I am looking for something to keep my hubby occupied at down time. He's one of those who watches his basketball and football at home so he can work while watching. Actually I'm surprised he is willing to go with me to SLC. He picked that one 'cause it's the closest to home. I'm not good in solo travel. Hopefully he'll enjoy it and be willing to take me to Olympic trials.

I don't know if they will take issue with the laptop. The coaches all have them, and given that the venues are really cracking down on 'media' from fans, they might take issue. More importantly however, is the event isn't really suited well to that. You're in bleachers, which means the laptop will be literally on his lap! In addition, it's LOUD, with everyone cheering and chanting, so I'm not sure how enjoyable that would be. If you've never been to a ST event, realize it's unbelievably fast paced, and you can't be distracted for a second and still have a hope in he11 to follow what's going on. We were watching the men's relay and team USA was kickin' butt. I looked away for a MERE nanosecond to answer someone's question, and when I looked back we were waaaayyyy behind- someone ended up in the boards in the few moments I looked away and I hadn't even realized someone had fallen! Don't let this happen to YOU! LOL

And lest we forget Mtnme, the seating gets quite snug at times depending on the size of the crowd. There are benches behind the bleachers and the open spaces in the lobby might be a good place to use a laptop IF you are not watching the races. Other than that---I'm thinking that you might get in with it, but you will be asked to shut it down and go stow it in your car.

I'm thinking that unless the new rules prohibit it (and only time will tell), a laptop would be fine. There were several people at both Nationals and the World Cup who were using them in the stands, and I was thinking about giving it a go at AmCup myself, though Mtnme and Gasp are right - it is 'tight' quarters. I'll add a caveat to this: I have no idea if they had to get permission first. EDIT: I think that the biggest variable will be whether he can get internet access...

It's not like you can point a laptop at the ice, hit 'click' and take pics or video from the laptop! SO they couldn't shut it down for THAT reason.
If he's watching his own dvd's or playing games, that would be one thing.
If he's relying on the internet for his entertainment, i agree withh Lori that they may have internet, but it might be secured so only those with the race can get online via password.

Is everyone getting Premium Seating in St. Louis??

I'm planning to get Premium seating - I've asked the usual question though - "Is it assigned seating, or open seating within a special 'premium' area?". (If it's assigned seating, we'd have to get together and purchase the tickets as a group if we want to sit together).
I'll let ya' know what I hear.
