;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D OMG ladies, this looks faabulous! You should feel so proud of this baby! mtmne what kind of web design and html background do you have? PLease tell me that you haven't been sitting in a dark hole reading a book on web design for dummies? THe site look and feel has alot of **POP** which is what you want. And it says "we're here to stay" and "this is legit"... I think that's helpful when you're trying to entice someone to donate money. It's NOT just a fly-by-nite site that someone put up to look for $$.....It has thelook and feel of staying power, which is what we want. As you know, web testing is what I get paid to do in life so I will send you an email with feedback on broken links, inconsistancies and suggestions (give me a few days!). Again, you, Lori and Apolostar have launched something that will help to make people's dreams fly, and I love the fact that it was developed step by step, with great thought and common sense, and care. Congratulations!

mtmne what kind of web design and html background do you have? PLease tell me that you haven't been sitting in a dark hole reading a book on web design for dummies? No experience whatsoever- although I was a graphic artist and illustrator in a 'previous life', - until I changed careers. I HAVE however, been in a dark hole reading "instructions for dummies'. The website is a pre-made template by Allwebco. I can't say enough good things about the templates. It takes awhile to "see" what is the editable type" within all the html codes. (as in OMG!!! One misplaced apostrophe, and half the site disappears!) But it was relatively intuitive for what we needed. But thanks for the heads up. We appreciate it more than you know. Our feelings exactly. We wanted to get the site put together before we went back and approached the skating clubs, skaters, blogs, etc. We wanted to show them we were serious about this. As you know, web testing is what I get paid to do in life so I will send you an email with feedback on broken links, inconsistencies and suggestions (give me a few days!). Thanks aaosmts19, we look forward to your input. But for now, I'm off to fix the errors I already know about! LOL Again, you, Lori and Apolostar have launched something that will help to make people's dreams fly, and I love the fact that it was developed step by step, with great thought and common sense, and care. Congratulations! Thanks everyone for participating. Congratulate yourselves for 'stepping up".

Love, love, love the vibrant blue of the site. It really made me want to hang out there and read every page, play with every button. It struck me that it was very red-white-and-blue like the US colors. I'm sure that was part of the plan! Glad we are using the Comments section like the OZ model vs. the fan/forum in GA. We need to put our best business face on for the ROcker FUnd, given its monetary nature and we can't be showing any of our rowdiness in a professional atmosphere. Having said that, I love the fact that I have to click on Apolo's butt to get to the fan forum! Another link for the links page: ryanbedford.com/Great, simply great!

Thanks for Ryans link, I'll add that this weekend. As for the comments, it's not hooked up yet, since that just takes you to a form for a mail account. I haven't decided what the best way to do this is yet. In the meantime, if people want to leave comments, they can e-mail them to the g-mail account, and I'll have to post them manually. (Which probably wouldn't be a bad idea anyway. I would be mortified if someone got on there and wrote something snarky about a skater and it immediately posted on the site! ) In the meantime, I didn't want to erase the pre made module until I figured it out! LOL The site is going to have 'growing pains' for awhile, i think.

It makes you want to explore all the links. I agree with your idea of posting the comments manually, particularly for a site like The Rocker Fund.

Ok, it's official, our domain name has been moved to the new site. therockerfund.org/Make sure you bookmark it, as we will be adding items to the site as we grow. (additional info about the skaters we wouldn't necessarily be adding here at GA.) After all, this IS Apolo's fan site...tee hee...just in case he thought we forgot all about him and didn't love him anymore! LOL)

Thanks for the link to Ryan's site. A lot of fun pics, but this is my favorite of Ryan and Alex. Don't ya just love it?!!! This pic is completely cute! It really captures the joy of skating. Mtnme, you've done a great job with the website! ;D I got caught up on my check-writing today. I'll be sending a little bit of "love" to each of the skaters. One thing that dawned on me today -- our skaters will probably be stuck with those stupid check-through baggage fees when they travel. Oh, well, what I send can help out with that.

Now that we are about to go on our 4th Skater of the Month, it seems to be a good time to post all of Theresa's (Apolostarr's) wonderful Skater of the Month pictures and to update everyone on how the Rocker Fund is doing. SOTM #1 - April - Lezleigh JaworskiSOTM #2 - May - Barry WinslowSOTM #3 - June - Anthony Barthell...and now, introducing: SOTM #4 - July - Kyle UyeharaKyle is a member of Southern California Speedskating Association, and we'll have his bio up in a few days. In the meantime, The Rocker Funds total donations to date are... (drum roll please).... $1240All of your donations have been greatly appreciated by the skaters, many of them using your generosity to buy much needed new skates for the season- so the money couldn't have come at a better time. ;D We hope you will continue to support these wonderful athletes in their pursuit of their goals. Remember, you could very well be contributing to one of the USA's next Olympic team members. We know these are difficult financial times, but no amount is too small of a donation- it WILL add up if many people participate. Once again, here is the link to The Rocker Fund website. therockerfund.org/...and thank you to all of you for the many 'kudos' on the new site....I'm blushing....

I received a thank you note today for my rocker fund contribution from one of our skater of the month candidates. That was unexpected but it sure made my day. It was so sweet that it brought tears to my eyes. You can be sure that I will save the card as a keepsake!
