Evenin' Billiey. Thanks for all the articles. Very good sluething. Sounds like our boy is waiting for some pennies from heaven. Hope they come in dollar bills for him so his decision will be more clear. I'm with you about Yuki. He's 100 times more loyal than even the best manager and he's not gonna try to boss Apolo around. Not his style. He just wants to see his kid happy, healthy and living life to the fullest. And even though career management can be tough and there are bound to be some differences, I can't imagine the two of them not being able to work it out. Besides, Yuki himself actually has amazing appeal. He could charm the cherries off a tree. He was one of the few athlete parents to be interviewed during the Olympics and, well, what's not to like about a pint-sized, big-hearted, enormously smiley immigrant turned business man and single father success story? I say Apolo eventually ends up managing him. Lovely about Caroline and J.P. They are cute together. JP has that cat-that-swallowed-the-canary grin all the time. I want to pinch his cheeks.

Pardom me for being lazy. So Apolo is being managed Yuki. Thats cool. He knows wot his kid wants best and their is no one better to fight for the kid than his father. He would use his kunfu grip if he's got in order to make a good business decision for Apolo. Nice move.
Those this mean that no longer wants to be a super hero in the big screen? I hope so. I selfishand dont want to share with no one else but our lot.

To be honest, as a fan, I wasn't happy with the job that B/G was doing (thus far) in managing Apolo's business dealings. I realize that in terms of marketing, speedskating can be a challenge, but Apolo is handsome, charming, likeable, and successful. He really needs someone out there strongly advocating for him, and Yuki may well be the best person for the job.

You can't sign a contract for an adult and commit them to something unless you have a power of attorney. There's no reason Apolo would give that to Yuki or anybody else. That's only used if you're incapacitated in some way, or are going to be out of the country for awhile and have some deals going that you want someone to finish for you. A manager looks for and brings you proposals, he doesn't make your decisions for you. You're implying that Yuki doesn't know Apolo well enough anymore to do a good job managing, but does an agency like Brillstein & Gray know Apolo better? Apolo's own words lead me to believe that he and Yuki are closer now than they've ever been. There are some bad examples out there of relatives not getting along when they work together, but you don't hear about all the times it does work out, which, from what I've seen, is more often than not. I think Apolo has made it obvious that he trusts Yuki to do the job. He's the best judge of how close they are. Wow...you went all legal on me. Well then, I'm wrong...Yuki can't make decisions for Apolo without his permission. That doesn't change the fact that I worry about Apolo and Yuki's relationship if Yuki does doubletime and acts as his manager. Just a question, since I don't read all the articles about Apolo - where does he make it obvious that he trusts Yuki to "do the job"? I know that Apolo admires his father and knows that he's worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices to support Apolo, but I don't recall where Apolo hints that Yuki would do an awesome job as his manager. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just think it would be interesting to read. Guest II, playing devil's advocate or being sincere? Hmmmmm.... A little bit of both. Some people think that it's a great idea that Yuki is Apolo's manager. I don't. I'm not calling names, and I'm not saying "your opinions sucks arse". I'm being a good Guest!

Yes, you are a good Guest, and I value your opinions. as for managing (spelling?), I don't know. I'm not either/or. I don't know what to think of it.

I don't mind if you play devil's advocate, Guest II. That's what makes it a discussion and you haven't been negative or hostile that I can see.
I think it's obvious that Apolo trusts Yuki to manage him because he wouldn't have asked him to if he didn't.
I do understand your concern that, if something goes wrong, it will hurt their relationship. But from what I've read, they had their knock down drag out fights when Apolo was younger and came through those just fine.
I know this isn't exactly the same thing, but Apolo is grown up now and shows Yuki a lot of respect. I suspect their relationship means enough to both of them that they aren't going to let anything ruin it.
Anything can happen. I just don't feel like it will be anything bad in this case.

That's a great in-depth interview! I love how thoughtful and articulate Apolo's answers are. So, from that article, Apolo is back at the training center. But then he says he hopes to be there more often to get back in shape...so to me, it sounds like he's just there to get back in shape, but he's still not 100% commited and hasn't made a decision yet. Other parts of it, it sounds like he wants to keep skating though. I like his answer about him not being able to skate in 10 years, and right now he'd still be able to skate, and now's the only time he'd be able to skate while he's in his 20's; and a very small portion of the population are Olympic-level athletes...also that he thinks any entertainment offers will probably still be there after 2010. I say, keep skating Apolo! what you said is what I agree with, and have been thinking, too. SKATE APOLO SKATE!

I really dont mind nor its any of my business who manages Apolo. I think that it's on his best interest to make a decision for himself. I dont know anything on management, but I do know that a parent would do everything possible for the best interest of thier cub. I really dont care/mind who takes care of those issues for they're non of my business.
I do hope, that being I loving fan of his, everything goes well. He happens to be a very smart man and knows how to take care of himself. Now as fans, Im left to wonder, why is it that we question so much about his personal life? Im certainly/deliriously happy knowing that Apolo is happy and well when it comes to his finances and career.
Wot Im must happy about is that he gets to do public appearances and thankfully, people take his photo so that when I go into net I see the shot and drool over his sexy everything.
P.S. forgive my spelling. its 11pm and Im with Tequila.
