Way to be proactive, Laura That's big news. Hadn't he already gone over to B&G when the whole Derby fiasco happened? It didn't sound like they were on the same page. For all we know, they haven't represented him for awhile. As for the Arkansas thing, I think a couple of companies that sponsor him were involved, so he would show up as their spokesperson. I'm just guessing, but if Yuki is representing him now, then it was probably Apolo's decision to quit B&G. Otherwise, he would've just looked around for another agency. Maybe Dad is the only one he trusts to get it right. Whatever "it" is.

Wow, that's interesting. Thanks for the info, Laura. I wonder what happened with BG -- it didn't last very long.
The Arkansas event made sense to me as servicing his sponsor(s). It also makes sense geographically to get him to a part of the country where he hasn't spent any time.
I wonder if this is part of Apolo helping his dad to realize his own dreams.

Kudos to you Laura for all your sleuthing! Won't catch you sitting around waiting for answers. Regarding the whole Hollywood thing: All along I've felt it was just one of those things that came on the wave of the victory in February. When I first heard about it I was like "You're gonna what? Well if that's what you want, I'm behind you 100%, and not just because of the view". But all along I was thinking, he's an athlete. That's a tough transition to make. What I'm saying is perhaps Apolo sat down, thought it through and decided to set that one on the back burner. Talked it over with the production company and they agreed. I don't know if it's that easy to step out of such a contract, but I like it better than them dumping him.

I found this googling around w/Apolo's name. This is part of the article that caught my eye. The link will give you the entire article. It is from after 02 but before 06 Olympics. The endorsement offers. The TV appearances. The please-come invitations to A-list events. “There’s no way that I would ever want to turn that stuff down,” said Ohno, who has endorsement deals with Coca-Cola, General Electric, McDonald’s and Roots. He has, however, been forced to say “No, thanks,” because of ethical conflicts, time restraints and, as he put it, “just the language in some of the contracts.” For instance? “ It’s hard to go into detail, obviously,” he said, not wanting to bite an endorsement hand that might someday feed him. “But some of the stuff is funny.” Like? Meeting certain criteria about where he will train, and with whom. “It’s important for me to kind of realize why I’m here, what I’m trying to do and what goals I’m trying to accomplish,” Ohno said. “That’s all that really matters to me.” www.aipsmedia.com/index.php?page=profile&cod=6&sw_menu=20&sw_smenu=prf27

I also went to Brillstein and Grey's website and they produced the Wedding Singer so maybe that is why he was there then.

Interesting Billiey, thanks for the link. Maybe he was there for that purpose, since he was quoted in that article regarding the new facilities. I wonder if he will be attending the open house on Monday?

I like that he's still so involved with short track. I don't know if that means he'll keep skating or not, but I don't think he can walk away from it completely.

Yeah, I've sort of got the same vibe from him as well. By the way he speaks, he certainly seems to still have the same love for short track, just not neccesarily the years of training that is needed to continue. Maybe this is just another way for him to use his name to push the sport further. And then again, maybe as time goes by and the next olympics get closer, he'll get homesick and get the urge to really want to skate again.
