After a weekend of manual labor (helping a friend move) it is always nice to come to GA and see more of the photos and links you guys have posted.
Thanks Christy for putting the Doucet video of the 5000m relay up.
Thanks Skaterswaltz for the pics of the surroundings at the Pacific Coliseum. Beautiful maple tree. And I'm sure Ray, the photographer in SLC, would have appreciated the warning sign before he got knocked on his back when Apolo hit the wall. Poor guy.
Thanks Sk8on for the great pics of Ryan, Katherine and Apolo.
And thanks Lori for the Tom Di Nardo pics. Love the one of the tumble with Allison and Katherine. What an action shot. Glad they were not hurt. Great shot of Allison edging out the skater for the bronze medal.
Great link to the Aim Companies, Gasp. Thanks.
You ladies do a great job of keeping us all informed.

transcripts from CBC Special "World Cup #2 Short Track Speed Skating Highlights-Vancouver" October 2008 (by musical mom)
Part I - Intro by sports broadcaster Steve Armitage and Catrina La May Doan, two time Olympic gold medalist
(Steve) Beginning in the early 70's, it was home to the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. Welcome to the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, today, site of the second stop on short track speed skatings's World Cup circuit. It's fast, it's furious and sometimes dangerous and few have done it better than reigning World Champion and two time Olympic Gold medalist, APOLO ANTON OHNO. His main challenge in this Vancouver World Cup will come from HoSuk Lee a member of the powerful Korean team. Charles Hamelin is now the man to beat wearing the Maple Leaf. He was 2nd at last year's worlds in the 500 (and took the silver medal in the overall World Championships)
(Catrina) A lot of people are here to watch the olympians of 2010 who will be competing here in Vancouver in 15 months. For all the skaters, this is the test event, their chance to test the ice...for the Canadians it's a chance to test themselves at home in front of their local fans. World Cup season began last week in Salt Lake City and was once again dominated by the Koreans and Chinese. Well, we always see strong skaters but what's interesting is that in every world cup we see new Koreans emerging. They have such depth, endurance and understand the tactics of how to skate. But, we cannot forget the Americans led by APOLO ANTON OHNO. Many people know his name for his great skating, but many people know him from DANCING WITH THE STARS. This is his first season back after a full summer of training after doing the DANCING WITH THE STARS TOUR. ;D

PART II - skating announcer at the conclusion of the MEN'S 5000 RELAY FINAL (as Apolo crosses the finish line just inches ahead of Charles Hamelin, the crowd erupts and the announcer says) The Americans take the gold, the Canadians the silver, and Japan crosses for the bronze! Once again the thorn in the Canadian's side, APOLO ANTON OHNO, coming on when the gun went for the final 3 laps, to clean up for the Americans against the Canadians in this men's relay final..Gold to the United States! (Catrina) An impressive skate by the Americans! The Canadians kept battling against them, but they just did not have enough at the end. A lot of American fans coming up from the U.S. to cheer for this American team. (Steve) What a terrific way to finish this Olympic test event at the Pacific Coliseum, the second stop on the World Cup circuit, the men's 5000 relay final..... the gold going to the Americans ( 6.52.15) , the silver to the Canadians(6.52.22) and Great Britain (6.57.01) moved up to bronze because Japan was disqualified.

PART III - Catrina interviews APOLO (Catrina) The second week in a row, a battle against Canadian Charles Hamelin, this time in Canada. Tell me about that ? (Apolo) Well, it was a much different race than usual. The Canadians took it out much slower than we expected. But, it came down, basically, to the last four laps. I was pretty surprised......they came by me with so much speed that I had to kind of scramble.... But it was good for our team to come back. I had kind of a bad day of performance individually yesterday, but I was very happy that I was able to bring our team back to stand on top of the podium. (big grin) ;D ;D ;D

Okay, I haven't deserted this site... just to let you know.
Here is ONE APOLO photo! I've been doing a lot of photo-management here... it sure takes a lot of time... along with multi-tasking in my 'real-life'! LOL Plus, we're going to LA this Friday (for 4 days), for 3 different events... very exciting!
