Hi All, Hope Halloween went well. It's Saturday afternoon and I just watched the CBC 1 hour special on World Cup #2. I taped it on my vbox and will do my best to transcribe sections of coverage of Apolo and the U.S...may take awhile but I'll do my best. The filming was excellent..some coverage of Jeff Simon, Lobello, JR Celski and of course Apolo! They got great footage of the men's relay final and I think I saw the tail end of Apolo's twist in the air..of course this is a Canadian content channel so there was quite a bit on the Canadian skaters, Charles and Francoise Hamelin, Francoise Louis Tremblay, Maria St. Gelay, and the Canadian women's relay final. Considering, I thought the coverage of Apolo was fair and significant. It also showed the 1000 meter final where his skate blade slipped and he ended up 4th. More on that later when I submit my discription of ice and blade problems as per Apolo conversation. I believe Olympia is going to try to copy to DVD and send to one of the Vancouver gals for ripping but it may take awhile. so I'll post transcriptions as I get them. Just wanted to keep you all up to date. Musical Mom

I can't compete with all the breathtaking photography everyone's posted, so I'll post some of my atmospheric, moment-in-time shots.
This is how early we got to the Pacific Coliseum on Saturday morning -- basically the sun was still coming up. Beautiful. Then we went scavenging for coffee. This was taken right outside the Pacific Coliseum. We don't have many trees like this in southern California. Stunning. They gave the photographers and crews fair warning this time with these little signs posted all along the back side of the pads.A lot of fabulous 5000 relay awards pictures have been posted, but I love the look on Apolo's face and everyone enjoying watching Travis and Anthony get their medals:

I'm still going through my pics to see if there are any that are unique enough to share, but in the meantime, a talented photog named Tom Di Nardo posted these at Andrew Love's blog, and I thought y'all would be interested... Go to andrewlove.org/blog/?p=629 for Tom's pictures and story. WINNING THE RELAY... CONGRATS FROM COACH JAE SU... Skaters Waltz and Sk8on....thankyou for posting your pictures. Karma to you both when I have some to give! The tree in the picture is a Japanese Maple ...they turn very red in the fall and are also red, but lighter, in the spring. However it's leaves are somewhat serrated and different from the sugar maple tree leaves which are on the Canadian flag. We had lots of those in Ohio and Pennsylvania and throughout the eastern United States as well as Northern Canada which is know for it's maple syrup..ie. Ontario, Quebec Loved your sunrise shot SW! As a night person, I don't see too many of those lately even though I live here! Wasn't it a magical weekend! Musical Mom will try to post my pictures today.

Not sure where to post this...it's WC related but concerns JR. Admin, it should be on the Un-ApoloBarod section go ahead and move it. The link below is a Webpage about J.R. with some videos. It's nicely done, easy to review and the information is kept current. Not sure if J.R. will be doing his own website at some point but this is a good start. Apparently the AIM companies must provide some type of sponsorship. www.theaimcompanies.com/Click on the speedkskater; click on J.R. Celksi--that drives you to the webpage. Happy viewing!
