I like the idea of separate, labelled threads. That way people can avoid them if they want to.

I'm kind of torn. Susie and Apolosangel make a good argument for "self restraint" and "parental controls" when it comes to looking at something that is too old for them. But, at the same time, the little ones are just going to be curious, and look at it anyways. You know? I did when I could. (look how I turned out ) I really hate exposing them to something like that at such a young age. They're too impressionable. But, what are we to do? If they want to look at it and read it, I guess that means that they're part of it, deep down inside. You know? Or not? People mature at different ages. You can't put a number on it. Should we let them police themselves?

LOL, I didn't mean seizure-inducing, glowing [glow=red,2,300]RED[/glow] I meant like this.
And Susie's a teen? I could have sworn you were older!

I say probably do the separate board, but label it as that, and it will grow, like the Pics Board did.

I voted yes - no password and based my vote on two different perspectives:
1. I'm an older woman who wants to be able to interact without being censored.
2. I'm the mother of a 16 year old girl. She is exposed to much worse out in the real world than I would ever be concerned about her seeing on a +18 board in this forum.

My five year old picks up worse stuff just listening to the radio. She doesn't know what most of it means but she is learning fast, and, thankfully still coming to me with the questions. "But mom, why does the girl want the boy to undo her buttons?" Because they are probably in the back of her dress dear, and she can't reach them and she wants to get her footy pjs on so she can go night night. Then there was the middle-schooler who asked me when I came in to teach a class if I was going to "give him some knowledge." Lucky for me, I saw that look in his eye and knew a set up when I saw one. I told him he'd have to get his own "knowledge" I was just there to go teach a lesson. It's a toss up who was teaching who what that day.

Well i agree that as teens we've seen worse heard worse and know a lot more than our parents think we do. (at least i do) And it is a good point that some kids are gonna look at what they want to no matter what. But i really am not sure which way to vote yet. There are so many factors.

For me though it's all about respect. I don't think apolo would like being talked about in a raunchy kinda way. But hey i know i don't have to participate.

You might be right but I think he would dig it. (Not that he'd admit it to reporters or your avg starry-eyed, giggly questioning fan). I have never, ever, met a man who didn't wish to star in and hear about himself as the center of a girls fantasy life. I have had boyfriends (good little altar boys even) beg for it till I gave up and started making up stuff to cater to their poor little egos. wouldn't it be ironic if the first time I genuinely put a face and a name to my imaginary friend, he doesn't want to be included? Actually, the second time. I guess I can go back to Johnny Depp 'cause I reallly doubt he minds. I just feel real bad about the wife and all. It makes me feel so, immoral.

By the way, I am always very respectful in my virtual dalliances. One might even say, awed.
Someone who actually knows what they are doing and won't accidently smite and illuminate posters all over the place ought to set up a poll. Anyone who knows a real guy can ask whether they would mind or not and vote.
