Well what the heck do you guys want to talk about? You guys want to curse, talk dirty...? I don't know most of the stuff you guys said was rather true...sometimes I feel held back because it's suppose to be pg-13...but eh...What ever rocks your boat!

I mean we can all talk about Apolo! I think people just don't want to feel that have to watch every little thing that they say, especially if it's a hot button topic, like let's say, Alison. But look at it this way, if Apolo came to this board, I don't think he would be too happy with a thread that dedicated to pics of him and his girlfriend, becuase that is more unnerving than people talking about her. She could care less about that. And I'm not bringing her up for discussion, I was just making a point

Interesting comments by all on this thread. I can appreciate the reasons for trying to set some guidelines. It seems to be a double edged problem. If you don't set any guidelines you can deteriorate into a board which is totally inappropriate for younger members. However, a PG-13 rating were you can never swear or use any inuendo or sexual content can be very confining and keep other members from posting.
Case in point: I only started coming here in the last few weeks and have mainly lurked instead of posting because I am sure some of the things I would post may not be considered PG-13.
I know I will be struggling with this in the fan fic I am currently writing.
I think an over 18 section might be a good solution.

Thanks for the welcome. I haven't been here long but find it very welcoming and friendly. One of the nicest boards I've spent time on.

Please don't feel like you guys need to walk on eggshells. To answer your question, bella. I don't believe a lot of posts were modified at all. I can count on one hand the amount of posts I have modified for content - and I promise I only delete posts I deem as clutter (I said this elsewhere, too). I WANT EVERYONE TO TALK FREELY!!! The only rule I have about posts getting modified are if they're sexually graphic (think extremes, here, people... I don't think we've even HAD the problem). So if you're holding back, it's unnecessary. Say your mind - I don't know how many times I can reiterate this. Again, the rules were to prevent the clutter, not to prevent mature, sensible discussion!

P.S. I'm not sure how many of your recall the famous Allison thread - but the reason I deleted it (and I have never deleted another thread except for a spammer) was because people regretted the things they said about other posters, not about Allison. That's why the thread went bye-bye, not because I didn't want Allison's name ever mentioned or anything ridiculous like that. You can talk about Allison - it's okay with me. I personally don't appreciate hurtful comments about how ugly she is, etc. but this is your board too. I can't censor everything you know?

You are very insightful and definitely hit the nail on the thread - it is double-edged. I don't know how to manage this, but I'm taking it day by day and definitely taking into account everything that is being said here. I did remove the PG-13 rating because it's not what I meant in terms of maturity. The only place I left the PG-13 rating was at the fanfic section, because I know DarkBlades offers that sort of content and I don't want to steal things that should be going on their site. I'm still thinking about an over 18 section but I do have qualms...

What kinds of qualms, Lindsey?

It's not that I'm against the idea of having posts that are geared for people over 18. My qualms are about separating it from the rest of the board. Why not just post your thoughts here? I would imagine that people younger than 18 would visit the new thread anyway - that never really stopped me when I was younger, in fact, people might gravitate to it more because of the label. I just don't want to label things anymore -- the PG-13 *rating* was a mistake. The only thing I really want to *rate* are the fanfics. Just the way people felt inhibited by the PG-13 rating, I would feel like an over 18 *rating* would draw people in who want to talk dirty about Apolo, and we just don't do a whole lot of that here... do we? Am I totally wrong about this?

Lindsey, again I don't think you were the problem.
And the Alison thread needed to get deleted. It was getting way out of hand.

Thanks for the kind words, Crims... I'm feeling like a totally bad mod right now and I must admit I had suicidal thoughts towards the board a few days ago. Rose was feeling overwhelmed as well, so now it's just me and Nerka. I feel like I've destroyed something great that we had here, and I desperately want to get it back. Very discouraged mod. And this in the midst of finals...

Yea, Rose just up and left! I couldn't tell if it was her or another rose (aren't there two?) and I wish she would've stayed.
Lindsey, you didn't destroy anything! You're a great mod, hell, the fact that you're taking time to come here and reply is a testament to just how good. ;D
