Yeah, who usually takes the pictures when he goes to these kind of events, like Oscar parties and such? Someone is taking pictures of Apolo and whoever... I always figured it was that same PR agent that was with him at the Roots store.

No it's not weird, it a ratings ploy.
ABC is trying to get a foot on the the people that are hyped up today about the Kentucky Derby, since they didn't air it. Why not play on the viewers that interested in the horses today.
Because the Derby was on the NBC right???

I cry like an infant when I watch Seabiscuit. And I will *heart* Toby Maguire forever for making that film! And Gary Stevens, who is one hot tiny little man, too!

Some people mentioned his shoes. I was reading somewhere else where the article mentioned Ladacris shoes at a party too.

Yes, MT, we have "partied tarty" elsewhere, despite the supposed confusion over your gender. You can't beat sprawling in the snow in waterproof togas!
I can understand Noelle not wanting to post the pictures from the Derby. It would probably be embarrassing to have your private life discussed there, which it would be if the pictures were posted. Her board is visited by short track fans from around the world, and even short track skaters themselves, including Apolo.
The Australian skater who made Apolo's boots for the 2002 Olympics, and then won the race himself when everybody else fell down, recently visited the board. He said Apolo sent him. Obviously they still keep in touch.
And how back to horse racing. In two weeks, they will run the Preakness, the shortest of the three races. Three weeks after that one, they will run the mile and a half Belmont. None of these horses have ever run that distance before, and most of them never will again.
A lot of horses win the first two, but just can't get the Belmont distance. That's why it's called the graveyard of champions. These three races have been lumped together to form the "Triple Crown" for something like 120 years, and in that time, only 11 horses have won all three. The last one was Affirmed over 25 years ago.
That's why some of us are so excited about Barbero. He didn't just win the mile and a quarter Derby. He wiped out of the field. He was getting farther ahead with every step. And he did it in an excellent time without ever being touched by his jockey.
He certainly looked like the Belmont distance will not be a problem for him. Of course, he has to win the Preakness first.
Sorry to go on and on about horse racing. I love it so much I was even a groom and hot walker at a racetrack in my younger days.
