I got the feeling when I first read it that it was edited down quite a bit...not unlike the TV interview.

Awww! I just got up to speed on this thread. First, the pics were great! Susie, your shots are awesome! I'm sure all of us would have loved to been in your shoes! You're so lucky! I was also touched by the account of how Apolo treated the girl from Time for Kids. I'm a fledging reporter and have never interviewed anybody famous (other than locally). One day, I'd love to interview Apolo! (Wouldn't we all)

Two pictures up, Apolo with the kids: I'm loving all the bandanas. Please check out the pose and expression on the kid in front! Oh, and the big kid in the back with the white bandana is adorable too.

Jay, I'm so glad that you found those pics. That day was so magical! I'm always glad to see photos from that day.
The photographer did something to the top pic because the Capitol building is just not that close. Cool pic though.
The bottom photo! -- Apolo skated by repeatedly so that the kids could slap hands with him. It was at least three times, probably more. I *really* wish that I slapped hands with him, too! I was too busy taking pictures, or trying to. I just shake my head when anyone questions if he likes kids. If you saw him that day, you wouldn't question it. He was such a complete sweetheart. I think that he won everyone's heart that day -- he certainly won mine.
Thank you, Jay. ;D
