Apollo skating (close up) This is the shot that I missed! I cropped this because the full size photo looks really funny -- he's just starting to enter the frame so it almost looks like he's peeking around the edge. Apolo skated numerous laps for the kids and he seemed to be really enjoying himself. The kids loved it too -- they couldn't get enough of him!

Apolo interviews with Washington, D.C. ABC affiliate WJLA Despite all of the attention focused on him, Apolo kept his eyes firmly locked on those of the reporter and gave thoughtful replies to each question. The segment that aired was really nice, but I know that they had to really edit it down. Wouldn't we love to have all of that tape!

Apolo is interviewed by a child reporter This beautiful, sweet girl is an offical reporter for "Time For Kids". After the middle-schoolers had left, Apolo gave this child the same amount of time, quality of focused attention, and thoughtful responses that he gave the TV reporter -- I can say in all honesty that there was NO difference in how he treated the two individuals. I was blown away!

Apolo in the "corridors of power" Apolo stayed for as long as it took to chat, take photos, and sign autographs for all interested attendees. Here you can see him chatting with a Raytheon executive against the backdrop of our nation's Capitol building. He was charming and self-possessed with one and all.

Okay, Billiey, here's a start (...I've been wrestling with my photo editor and flickr.com, and have *finally* prevailed, lol.) This isn't the best picture since I took it sitting in front of my TV...but it gives the general idea. It shows Apolo arriving at the White House for the state dinner with Japanese P.M. Koizumi. even with blurry pic he still looks [glow=red,2,300]HOT[/glow]

Can you imagine how good it must have made her feel to be taken so seriously and not talked down to? I believe that some people are born with a natural ability to make others around them feel special. We all know at least one person who lights every room they enter. I used to work with a lady like that. The office was instantly a happier place when she walked into it. I'd have to meet him to know for sure, but I suspect Apolo may be such a person too.

He looks so cute.

I thought you said your pictures didn't turn out very well, Susie. You're wrong! Those are great.
Thanks for sharing them with us.
Does anyone else wonder if his feet ever hurt from walking around for hours at a time in ice skates or inlines?

Does anyone else wonder if his feet ever hurt from walking around for hours at a time in ice skates or inlines? I have often thought probably his feet and ankles get sore....it only makes sense.. I read somewhere..I wish I coulde remember where..that he takes alot of baths for muscle soreness..and I would like to join him in the tub!!!m Just thought I would throw that in there...

August, he really captured my heart with how beautifully he treated people that day...especially when he was interviewing with that child. He was really kind and patient with everyone, but especially the children. He just struck me as being a really nice, decent guy. I fell kinda hard for him that day...can you tell? When he's around, every head swivels in his direction...he's very charismatic. As for the aching feet and legs...I would say, yeah, probably. I used to work for Vail Associates, so I was skiing every day during the winter. My legs hurt all the time...it goes with the territory. I got used to it and just kind of ignored it. I was doing what I wanted to be doing and I loved being able to ski so much.
