Billiey, all I can say is when this guy is in motion, he is really difficult (for a newbie at digital photography) to catch on film. He is that quick! I can't tell you how many photos I have where all you see is a tiny bit of his backside or maybe a skate. I have one picture where, if I had waited a nanosecond more, it would have been a great shot. *Groan!* If only I had known enough at the time to do a "burst" of pictures. *Sigh*. It was still a fantastic day, though.

Okay, Billiey, here's a start (...I've been wrestling with my photo editor and flickr.com, and have *finally* prevailed, lol.) This isn't the best picture since I took it sitting in front of my TV...but it gives the general idea. It shows Apolo arriving at the White House for the state dinner with Japanese P.M. Koizumi.  |

On the General board (OZ thread) Stella mentions that the C-Span video is up at their video archives (go to the OZ thread if you want the exact addy.) She says that you can also see Apolo and Mrs. Kelly sitting down just before Brian Setzer starts playing (about 37 min. in.)

If I didn't get hit with the glare, then it was the dithering, so I was trying every possible variation with my camera and the lighting. If anyone has any hints for taking good pictures (with an ordinary camera) off of a TV, by all means share your secrets and I might have another go at it. I wondered the same thing about his tux. It was a nice classic style, and I thought that it fit him *really well*. If he doesn't own that one, I think that he should consider buying a similar one. He'll find plenty of occasions to wear it, and he'll never fail to make the ladies swoon. As for looking "very classic and sexy" -- OH YEAH!! |

Here are some photos that I took of Apolo's personal appearance at the "mathmovesu" event in Washington, D.C. on April 26th. BTW, if you are not a regular visitor to OZ (ohnozone.net) you owe it to yourself to cruise Noelle's April 23rd archive. Tammy's photos in particular are quite stunning.  Apolo at the podium addressing the middle-school students He had them from "Hello".   Apolo signing autographs The kids were all wearing matching bandanas, and Apolo obliged them by autographing the bandanas. |
