Would love to see Kristy win, but please not MARK! DOesn't look like Maks is back; he said he might be, wanting to take a break. Neither is Brian Fortuna back. Here's the initial schedule: Twelve celebrities - six men and six women - attempt to outshine one another on a sixth season of the hit series, Dancing with the Stars, which returns MONDAY, MARCH 17 (8:00-9:30 p.m., ET) on ABC. The season six cast includes some of our most lauded stars yet: an Academy Award winner, a Tony Award winner, an Olympic Gold medalist, a nine-time Grand Slam tennis champion, and the NFL's current Man of the Year. Six teams will strut their stuff on Monday night, while the other six teams will show off their moves on TUESDAY, MARCH 18 (9:00-10:30 p.m., ET). All twelve couples will perform a second routine the following week on MONDAY, MARCH 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET), before the first elimination, TUESDAY, MARCH 25 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET) on Dancing with the Stars the Results Show, where for the first time in the show's history, two couples' fates will be determined in a dramatic double elimination.

Am I the only one who doesn't get Mark Ballas? It would be a disappointment for this avid fan if she were paired with him; but I bet in height they are a good match. Now if she could be paired with Louis or Derek! They didn't mention last night who the pros would be..... No, you're not alone! I don't "get" Marky either. He really irritates me. I don't really get the buzz about Mark either. He was good on the tour but he wasn't the best as he appears to think he is. However he appears to have a rabid fanbase that is determined to keep him as long as possible regardless of dancing abilities. I do like the pairing of Derek Hough and Shannon Elizabeth. As well as the Steve Guttenberg/Anna Trebunskaya match-up. I hope they do well, we didn't get to see enough of Anna's talent last season since her and Albert were booted early on.

Darn!!! I, too, wanted Kristi with Derek. Blonde and black haired, they would have been a great match. Now, they need to get John Zimmerman next year, but more likely it would be Michael Weiss. How about Kurt Browning??? He would be great with Julianne. He is married to a ballerina and the boy can dance. Let's hope they keep tapping the figure skating world. I will be very surprised if Julianne, even with her fame, fanbase and appeal, will be able to last long with the person they've paired her with...blechhh!

Can you IMAGINE the gossip if they'd paired Julianne with Christian!!! Honestly, that probably WOULD result in a relationship.
Has anyone talked about Dance Wars? How lame was that show! Zack seems like a nice, wholesome young man but does nothing for me. I agree with Bruno, he doesn't have an edge. I guess I need a little dash of bad boy in my men. Just a smidge.

Well, it's certainly obvious where us figure skating aficionados loyalties lie! LOL!!! I was wondering who in the world they could possibly get on the show that could even come close to grabbing my attention. When Kristi's name popped up, I actually had a little woohoo moment! I'm really looking forward to the show now! But I agree with a lot of you. For whatever reason, I'd prefer Kristy with Derek than Mark. We'll just have to wait and see. And we've discussed this before - but Kurt Browning - OH YEAH BABY! I'll vote for that guy any day!

Now, now kirkland don't go breaking happy homes...lol--Cristián de la Fuente is married with children. Let's hope for everyone's sake that he and Cheryl won't get the "romance" rumors Overall, I am excited about this line-up (except for Adam Carolla whom I never could stand), and that hasn't happened since Apolo appeared an the show. Nobody will ever top season 4 in my eyes, but I'm looking forward to season 6 being much better than last season. A woman may actually win this thing this year, and it is probably about time--I love Kristi Yamaguchi and see her as the frontrunner at this point (if we can really say that about someone without having seen them dance yet). Add me to the list of people who would have preferred to see her partnered with Derek, but I'll root for her with Mark nonetheless. As a tennis fan, I'm also looking forward to Monica Seles--love this quote from her: "I'm a tennis player. I don't know a tango from a mango." ;D www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2008-02-18-dancing-with-the-stars_N.htmNow onto who I am least looking forward to seeing, Adam Carolla. I have disliked him for years (his crude "humor" was never my cup of tea), but have now come to hate him (and I usually don't throw out that word easily) after seeing this: Carolla's morning show became the subject of controversy within a few weeks of airing when on January 24, 2006, Carolla played a segment which spoofed the upcoming Asian Excellence Awards, which honor Asian American media accomplishments. The spoof consisted of what sounded like a typical excerpt from an awards show, except that the dialogue of the actors consisted only of the words ching chong, repeated over and over. But wait there's more... On November 9, 2003 Loveline was cancelled by Hawaii affiliate KPOI after Carolla referred to Hawaiians as "the dumbest people". He also claimed that you could take over the island with a Bic lighter. Undetered, Carolla has also called Hawaiians, "the lowliest of all God's creatures". All I have to say is poor, poor Julianne!

Wait. Hold up. Everybody out of the pool. Carolla said WHAT?? I'm sorry, but that's way too nasty for my taste. And he's partnered with Julianne? Why didn't they just pair her with Imus and be done with it? I'm getting an ugly suspicion that they set her up to not get a third win. What better way than to pair her with such a person. Well, we'll see how it turns out.
And it just dawned on me that Maks won't be there. I'm sorry about that. It took all this time for him to grow on me, and now he's gone. Bummer.
Wow, Marky's ears must be burning! I didn't know he was so disliked here. Odd too because he was on the show, what... 10 minutes before he was eliminated? I didn't see where he did anything all that wrong in such a short time, but maybe I blinked. I still think he will do right by Kristi. Derek impressed me too, but I see nothing wrong with Mark.

sk8on...i agree w/you, carolla is a jerk...can i say l-o-s-e-r . anywho, poor julianne...maybe she requested an early out...sheesh, it's worse than last season's cheryl/wayne pairing....i'll also be rooting for monica seles too! i've learned not to get my hopes up...if you're too good too early or have any kind of prior dance experience, you're considered a ringer...last season a girl was suppose to win but didn't again... it's all about the rook (usually male) getting better each week, giving it their all. august...you're not alone, i like marky (and derek) both and i'm thrilled he's got kristi for a partner!...rumors have it that she's already being considered a ringer though ... and i too will miss maks...he finally grew on me last season w/mel. oooh...and jason and cristian are mighty fine lookng dudes .

Okay. I have a prediction - *putting on my Carnac the Magnificent turban and holding a dance card to my head* (' who's that?' Think Johnny Carson, y'all)... ...Julianne is handicapped by her partner (especially if he's the jerk he's advertised to be) - she'll do respectably well due to HER fan base, but won't make the finals. When they're eliminated, she'll be free to sing 'That Song In My Head' on one of the results shows - so it's all good. Go Kristi! Go Monica! Go Jason! Go Derek! Go Julianne! (for as long as you can, babe... ) 'Anybody remember that Monica Seles was stabbed in the back by a 'fan' courtside during a tennis match? (she was #1 in the world at the time and was so traumatized that she didn't compete again for several years.)

I guess I should clarify here. I don't dislike Mark, he just doesn't really float my boat much. Maybe it was because Sabrina was such a powerful presence, I didn't really notice Mark that much. Derek really brought out the best in Jenny, she wasn't really everyones favorite, but she was one of mine. I thought Derek brought her along very nicely and shone a light on his own talent in the process. but that's just my

Wow, Adam Carolla has already managed to alienate all of Apolo's fans, and he hasn't even set foot on the dance floor yet. Ballas strikes me as being smarmy. I like Kristi, though, so I'm willing to give them a fair chance.

I do remember when Monica Seles was stabbed on court in '93 by a spectator. She dominated the game until then, but was never quite able to recover and enjoy much success after that. And she officially announced her retirement this month--I hope she does well on DWTS. I, too, feel like I need to clarify when I said I'd prefer Kristi with Derek. Derek is simply my favorite male pro so I would have liked to see my favorite male pro paired with my favorite celeb of the season. Mark is an exceptional dancer as well so I have no doubt he will do right by Kristi. Having said all that, Mark doesn't do much for me either for some reason!
