Unfortunately, I don't think Penn is going home tonight. I thought he was really obnoxious last night, talking back to the judges. And I didn't get the feeling he was happy about the hard work he had to put in. Kudos to Kim for putting up with him. I like her better than I used to. Here's what dialidol has: Kristi, Mario, Penn and Jason are safe. Priscilla and Adam are at the bottom, though they say any of the other contestants statistically could go. I am having real problems voting online this time: the site keeps hanging up. The "vote again" button doesn't work and I have to restart the whole process. Now it's not even loading. I've never had such problems before. Guess I won't get my votes in... but really, I don't have much passion about this season. I'm enjoying everyone (mostly) and I don't feel strongly about anyone. Except I really want to see Derek around for awhile. I do think he and Shannon are cute together. They seem to have a real friendship. I knew Kristi was going to be good, because she's an artist on the ice, but I really didn't expect her to be so fantastic. She's a natural dancer. I agree with August that if she's always tops, she may lose some of the fan vote, because she'll seem like a "shoe-in". I like Marissa, but I don't think the pairing with Tony was very good. They don't look good together. Someone a little shorter with a broader chest would look better with her. I also have never thought Tony's choreography was that great. He doesn't do a good job working with the strengths of his stars. From that standpoint, Priscilla is lucky to have Louis. JMO. And you all are completely right about Apolo's quickstep last year. He and Julianne were hip to hip the entire time, with great jumps. I keep watching for that connection and athleticism, and no one had it, even though Mario (and Jason?)'s quicksteps were good. I was surprised Len didn't comment on that. Sigh. There'll never be another Apolo. I'm still hoping he shows up this season... hopefully tonight since it could be Julianne's last week! But since he's not in rigorous training now, maybe in a future week Apolo and Julianne could reprise one of their dances for our viewing pleasure!

In lighter news, I also found out that he bites when provoked. Now all I have to do is think of a way to provoke him. And don't forget that he might also throw you over his shoulder, cave-man style. If I were his girlfriend, I would lie awake nights thinking of ways to provoke him. Right now, I see the celebrities falling into four groups. The "A" group (the top contenders) for me, are Kristi and Jason. The "B" group celebs need more development, but could be genuine threats: Mario, Marlee, Priscilla, and Shannon. The "C" group (middle-of-the-road) for me includes Marissa, and perhaps Cristian. The bottom "D" group would be Penn, Adam, and Monica. I've managed to miss Steve two weeks running now, but from other people's comments, I gather he would be in either the C or D group. I really liked Julianne's costume last night -- that spring green looked so fresh and pretty on her -- but I really did not get the eye makeup (...and yeah, folks have told me that it matched her leg paint/stockings, which I missed, but I still don't get it -- sorry!) I enjoyed watching Mark play with his skirt during rehearsals -- that was the first time that I've taken a liking to him. I know I'm going to take a hit for this, but I've always found him to be lacking in the masculinity department. So he puts on a skirt and my opinion of him improves? Go figure! I like not only Jason's dancing, but his attitude. He seems like a nice guy. I loved everything about Priscilla last night -- her dancing, costume, hair and makeup were all on point. It would be a shame if she is voted out too early. Shannon is yet another example of Derek's prowess as a dance teacher. I agree that Marissa suffered in her pairing. Perhaps Louis would have been a better choice for her? IMO she is being over-promoted as the "exuberant" one -- if she tones it down a bit, people will take to her better. She also needs to share her cancer story on the show. And does anyone else think that Cheryl chose that floofy skirt on purpose in order to hide Cristian's footwork? Based on the dancing alone, I would send home Monica and Adam. But we all know that fan-bases can really skew the results in the early and middle stages of the competition.

This time last year for the first time since my nieces ballet recital, I was actually moved to tears by someone's dancing. Our boy in a lovely gray tuxedo turned a quickstep into magic, and August wept. In lighter news, I also found out that he bites when provoked. Now all I have to do is think of a way to provoke him. Oh, August -- I am so right there with you. Magic.(That Apolo sure likes to fly -- whether it be on the dance floor or on the ice.)Ahhhh--those were the days! That brings back great memories...the excitement, the chemistry...it was pure magic. No one will ever compare to Apolo. No one will ever capture our hearts like Apolo. That said, my faves so far this season are Jason and Kristi.

I haven't watched an espisode yet as this season's contestants don't interest me, but I did see a clip of Priscilla Presley practicing somewhere and it was really sad. Her plastic surgery is so botched, it's not funny. She was such a naturally pretty woman. Why do people mess with mother nature??
I don't know who's doing well and who isn't, but I'll go out on a limb and say Kristi's probably doing well. I don't doubt her figure skating background helps a little bit.

Yes! Bring on more gold medalists...ALEXEI YAGUDIN, please! I would love to see Kurt Browning too, but he is such a dancer the advantage would almost be unfair - but very interesting to watch...he'd probably do the choreography!! There are a number of skaters that I would enjoy on that show. I wouldn't be surprised to see Sasha Cohen show up but I don't care for her personality.
Lexi, you should watch. There are some endearing performers, Derek being one. Kristi and Mark are really exciting to watch, he is different with Kristi than he was with Sabrina, thankfully. And the football player, Jason, is just fabulous and Edyta's choreography is exceptional. As a person, I am really fond of Steve Guttenberg, who would have thought. I agree 1000% about Priscilla Presley, it is painful to watch her try to emote in conversation because she cannot move her face.
It is interesting about Julianne. She has become more of a celebrity than any of the celebrities on the show. I suspect this will be her final year, for a while anyway. Whe she and Apolo were skating, I figured her to be the "next big thing", and she is certainly well on her way. Time will tell what the lasting power is. She definitely has charisma, looks and sparkle.

Even after two seasons, Apolo is still "King of the Quickstep"!
And despite what some people think, I really don't think Cheryl will win either this season.

I enjoyed watching Mark play with his skirt during rehearsals -- that was the first time that I've taken a liking to him. I know I'm going to take a hit for this, but I've always found him to be lacking in the masculinity department. So he puts on a skirt and my opinion of him improves? Go figure! Hehe Susie, I think it helped that he announced he was going to put on the skirt, in a British accent. Hot! But I've always thought he was pretty hot. In my opinion, everything about Kristi & Mark's mambo, including the costumes, had "Sabrina" written all over it. Especially that bit of choreo where they kind of "spazzed" in place. Not really something I'd imagine Marky developing for Kristi. So, I've been wondering whether he actually choreographed that number for Sabrina last season - remember she said she was so bummed about being voted off because she wanted to perform the mambo and tango, both of which Marky had already choreographed or at least started to? Anyhoo, my girl-crush on Kristi is strong as ever. I thought she rocked. Though I did enjoy them very much, I thought Jason and Mario were overscored. I'm glad Jason got the encore though, and it should be illegal to have a body like Edyta's. To quote Carrie Ann again: "Daaaaaaaang." I thought Priscilla and Marlee were overscored as well. I agree with you guys, I can't believe none of the judges mentioned a not-close-enough quickstep hold. Even Derek and Shannon were guilty, and I liked their quickstep the most. Get with it, judges! Loved the Cirque piece, and Samantha did Oops #47,128 when she said "gratifying-defying." Oy. I was very pleased that Penn and Monica went home. Penn talked back to the judges waaayyyy too much, and Monica was just painful to watch - sorry! Sad for Kym and Jonathan, though. Jonas Brothers' "Take On Me" - Yikes, I think they mangled it pretty well. Adam is growing on some of us, is he not? His quip that Julianne & Derek should be taken to a lab and cloned ... hee! Best of all was "It's all right, babe. You don't need to know math - you're hot!" LOL!
