goo goo dolls-- before its too late OMG! I absolutely love the Goo Goo Dolls. Johnny Rzeznik will be a judge on a new show this season called The Next Great American Band. I think I'll watch it just to see him. Nerka, luv your siggy pic  |

Lexi, he was really good. I can't believe that last judge (Zack Werner?) didn't like his 1st performance, but his comments to the second performance sure made up for it. And even from these short clips, you can sense he is a nice, humble guy...sound like anyone else we know?! I have family in Canada, but none watch Canadian Idol, so let me ask...is it as popular as its American counterpart (American Idol)? And do previous winners go on to have successful careers, much like America's Kelly Clarkson and Kerri Underwood? It sure is a portal to superstardom for some here. |

And do previous winners go on to have successful careers, much like America's Kelly Clarkson and Kerri Underwood? It sure is a portal to superstardom for some here. Sk8on, you're so sweet to take a listen. Thank you. I wouldn't say our Idols have the success the American Idols do. I don't know why. We have fanatical fans while the show is on...and a bit after...and then only the die hard ones hang on. Kalan Porter - Season 2 Idol - had the greatest success. He's still my favorite of any season in any country. He was incredibly talented, absolutely adorable and painfully shy which endeared him to a lot of people. The judges and the contestants all had him pegged to win from the beginning and he's still the only Idol never to have landed in the bottom three. He did really well after the show...and then his mother was diagnosed with cancer and in the midst of the his success, he left the business for a year and half and just returned a month ago with a new album. It speaks volumes that BMG gave him 'permission' to go home where he wanted to be at that crucial time and assured him they'd still be there when he returned. Here are two popular performances while a contestant on CI in '04. He'd just turned 18 when he won.
