Wow i can't believe that Jenna girl said something so stupid and rude. I mean my god if every woman looked the same how boring would that be? Curves make u a woman. And people are born with different body shapes so u can't help it. All shapes and sizes are beautiful, but the beauty on the inside is what counts anyway. That girl just sounded very ignorant. Ok i'm done now.
Oh btw apoloangel ur response was very good. U go gurl!!

The real issue is health and fitness, not fat or skinny. You don't have to be fat to lack muscle tone and vitality. I've seen plenty of skinny women too weak to even stand up straight as much as I've seen heavy women exhausted from lugging their extra weight up a short flight of stairs. I've also seen women go to extremes to achieve a certain desired weight loss or reach a particular measurement to the detriment of their health. They reach their weight/measurement goal, but they are anemic, their hair lacks sheen and luster, their nails are brittle, their skin is dry, peeling and cracked, their gums bleed, if there's a cold going around, they always catch it, they have digestive disorders, extreme PMS and are generally pretty darn irritable. What's the point!?
Furthermore, I think any media image out there that objectifies women and sets up a golden standard that every woman is forced to compare herself to is damaging and completely unnecessary, unless, of course, you are an ad executive trying to justify your exsistance by increasing the bottom line sales number through any means necessary.

Well stated Bella. I'm a perfect example of what you just described. I was a size 3/4 about 5 years ago. Do you know how I did it? I starved myself, only 900 calories a day, 1200 calories on weekends. Then, I walked 1 mile part-way to work every day, walked for my full lunch hour every day, walked all they way home for 45 minutes, then worked out for 20 minutes in the evening, and also walked again for 2 miles. My job was also in a shipping department where I was on my feet all day doing heavy lifting. To say the least, I was a raving B*TCH all day long!! I was starving, dizzy, stupid from lack of food, would throw heavy objects off of the bay doors just so I could break something, my head was always buzzing, shall I go on? I was killing myself. But....d**n...did I look good Jenna!!!! I'm so happy I survived the situation. Our society is so sad.
