I admit, I went to go see three movies in a costume.
Ghostbusters when they were having a ten year anniversary.
Grease, when they were having a 20 year anniversary.
And a few years ago, *sighs* I am such a geek sometimes. I went to a world class event down in Miami where they were showing the Fellowship of the Ring extended edition, The Two Towers extended edition and the world premier of The Return of the King, back to back to back. I went in as Arwen, and I did not regret the experience one bit! I loved it and hope they release the films in the extended versions back to back again. I'll go see it again!

I saw "The DaVinci Code" this weekend, and I really liked it. I'm not sure what movie the critics were watching, or what more they think could have been done with the book. It was beautifully shot, and (mostly) faithful to the novel. Tom Hank's hair looks better in the movie than it does in the still photos.
I also saw "United 93" a week ago, and thought that it was very well done. It's a sobering movie. I saw the trailer for the WTC movie at the theater and it looked okay to me.

Critics, for the most part, I think are dumb. Or, they could be paid by other production studios to bash a movie.
I cant rust myself to see United 93 or the WTC. I watch a movie to have a good time, not get upset. I learned my lesson in Black Hawk Down!

I can watch hard movies, but I'd rather be in the comfort of my home, not is a theater packed with strangers. It's too personal.

Hey Ewan is in that movie right??? Black Hawk Down? I saw that movie, it's a shame that they don't make more movies about what's going on in the countries of the Sudan and Somalia, people really need to know what's going on over there. But yeah, I will probably skip Supes, it doesn't look interesting to me at all

I just get so angry at the movie theaters when the people talk on their cell phones during the movie! That's why I just will not go to a movie unless it's during the day when most people are at work. I will take a day off, and go see the movie, otherwise I just have to wait for the dvd to come out.
We ARE anxious to see X-Men 3, and the new Pirates movie. We just watched Mission Impossible 3 and even though I have personal issues with Tom Cruise, the movie was pretty good and very action packed.
I do want to see Da Vinci Code too. I think it will be good, long but good. I watched Tom Hanks on the Studio Actors show and they talked about the movie quite a bit. It sounded good to me.

Yes I finally saw a commercial for Pirates tonight during Housewives, I saw one for Supes while I was watching Charmed.
I don't know about Pirates, since I never seen the first 2, I doubt I will see this one. But for me, it's all about the Mutants.
I think it's better when movies are released in June, that way you have the rest of the summer to go see them over and over again. When big blockbusters are released in May, it just seems so early.

DVC runs two and a half hours, but you don't really notice the time. I wish that they had shown a little bit more of the Louvre, but the Paris shots are really nice. It's pretty much just the way you see it in your mind when you're reading the novel. Audrey Tautou is simply wonderful.

I would never go see any movie in costume. Now I'm going to be dating myself but back in the late 70's early 80's we used to go to the midnight showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show. Lots of people would dress up and it was more an audience participation piece than a traditional movie experience. Some of the shows in New York people would even get up in front and act out the roles they were dressed as. It was always wild to see which character your friends would dress up as. Usually told alot about their repressed personalities. It may sound geeky but it was an absolute blast!

Here in austin, we still do rocky horror every weekend at midnight and act it out, sing along, bring props, etc. It is a blast! A moviegoing experience like no other!

Wow! The DaVinci Code made around $174 million in the US alone It's over $220 million worldwide...looks like DaVinci code is the movie to beat this summer in terms of blockbusters... I willing to bet money that the movie theaters are gonna bet on the Mutants and Johnny Depp to bring in their cash this year. Remember, Johnny had a surprise blockbuster last year with Willy Wonka, NOBODY expected that movie to make that much money DaVinci is second in history to having the biggest opening weekend, Revenge of The Sith still holds #1 with $220 million, opening weekend
