Oh my Gosh, Warhorse! I'm so glad you are not badly hurt. It's amazing you had the presence of mind to hang on till you got to dry land!

I just didn't want to end up in the swamp, that stuff is disgusting. I still had mud up to my knees where the horse was panicing and splashing around in the muck, but I'm fine. Strange thing though, I hurt worse now than I did Saturdau or Sunday. I'm getting old! WAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

THIS IS AN ARABIAN HORSE. This is an Appaloosa. A Quarterhorse. This is a thoroughbred, actually, this is the famous thoroughbred, Secretariat. Ok, that's todays brief lesson into the world of horse breeds.

Besides, anyone that has the strength to ride and fall off a horse is not old. I don't know how you do it. I've had only a few experiences with horses and they nearly always get the better of me.
When I was in college, I went to visit a friend of mine at her farm and she tried to teach me to ride. Her family had two horses and a veritable zoo of other animals on several acres of land. We went out to the barn to get acquainted with the horses - an older chestnut mare and a young black colt. The colt came right over when he saw me (what a flirt!). I was a little afraid 'cause I'd never been so close to a horse before and he seemed soooo big, but that horse just nuzzled right up to me and started sniffing my face and neck so sweet and gentle and I thought, awwww! I was stroking his neck, thinking what an amazing creature he was, when all the sudden he reached out and nipped me, right in the middle of my chest between my... well, in a very tender spot!
OOOOOUUUUUCCCCCHHHH! Needless to say, I ended up riding the mare!
LOL!

Oh, Warhorse, I am glad you were not badly injured but so sorry that you are sore all over. The horse pictures are beautiful, by the way.
I will be 40 in October. Glad to know that my life will begin then. ;D

You go Rose! Age is a state of mind. Thanks, Bella. And I agree...you are as young as you feel. But I have to admit, I wish I had my 20 year old body with my nearly 40 year old wisdom. ;D (not that I don't have a lot more wisdom to gain)

Hey Ruffian, where are you girl? I found this info about a horse named "Apolo Ohno" and thought of you. "Apolo Ohno is a 2002 steele grey gelding by Chamus and out of the Bey Shah daughter Beyneka. This gelding has the mind and look to be a contender in halter and/or performance. He is nominated for AHA Breeders Sweepstakes and Dakota Classic Futurity." I got it from www.willowbrookarabians.com/sales.htmlThey have a video of this horse you can watch. He's really pretty.
