You're right. Being small is a gift. Yeah, I've been playing piano for 8 years but I quit because my teacher lived too far away. I wish I didn't.. I've always wanted to play quitar but it's too heavy, lol. Do you play sports? jennaceeta...height is determined by your parents so it's out of your hands... there's nothing wrong being a smurf is there anyway you can find an instructor or campus music department that offers piano instruction close by? you really should continue to pursue your passion. your avi is soo cute...did you create it yourself? Yeah, I made it myself when I was bored. Yeh, my campus does have a piano class. I'll check that out. Yeah, my parents are small people. My mom is 5'3 and my dad is 5'8 (Like Apolo...lmao). I know it's out of my hands. lol.

Jennaceeta25, I’m going to join your Avi fanclub too. I love it! Mtnme, I can’t believe you’re in Interior Design. It's so not fair that you get to live in California and have a dream job! I’ll also have to check out that movie “Contact”. Your description of it has piqued my curiosity. And can I just say that this is the first place I’ve ever been where I actually feel tall and I'm only 5'5"! LOL

LOL Ahh lexi, But I did have to pay a price for the above: #1) Hefty school loans I will be paying on until I retire or die, whichever comes first... #2) If I may direct you to page 4 of the Apolo Privately Owned thread, which pretty much spells out the other price...tee hee. #3) I didn't always make decent "bank" here. Tourists towns are known for being a struggle in the finance department. Not for anyone who prefers money to lifestyle choices. And I highly recommend seeing "contact". All my friends who have seen it said they were thinking about it for days afterwards! Now thats a movie that hits you on several different levels.

I wouldn't have thought that at all. Sad to say, business is usually very seasonal. If the weather doesn't cooperate, visitors don't come up (This winter was brutal! hardly any snow!) In addition, cost of living is usually exhorbitant, especially when compared to the wage scale. (I certainly did my fair share of waitressing in my day to make ends meet- although you get free meals and you're definately running your tail off- both figurativly and literally. Oh and thanks for rubbing salt in the wound on the height thing...

Yep, winter was pretty dismal this past season in the Sierras, even at Mammoth Mountain where we have 3 different timeshare weeks. We got a little lucky in that the snow-making guns were able to make some snow up at Heavenly. But my hubby and I don't mind if we can't ski all day, every day b/c there are the diversions at Stateline! Are you anywhere near Stateline?

Actually, I'm on the northshore, though stateline isn't that far a drive from where I'm at. So Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows and Northstar are the big ski areas closer to me. ( Most of us from the northshore don't go to the south shore very often because it is so built up- although they have done a wonderful job updateing that end of the lake, recently. It was starting to get a bit run down. The Northshore is more outdoor recreation oriented since most of it is on the California side-so no casinos. CA is also stricter about the amount of density that is allowed- so it's not as conjested. ( But don't try to convince me of that on a summer weekend in Tahoe City!)

Hair Color: ------I'm not totally sure anymore, but Blondish every 5 weeks
OK, that one is toooo funny! As my friend says " it's been so long since I let it go natural I'm terrified it is completely white by now!
Color: ----- earth tones...yes, I am that bland
Believe me- you're wild compared to the majority! Most folks want things designed in some variation of "beige" they are so terrified of color. ( For which one client said- "well I did pick a brown tone"... Sorry Darlin'- but it's just a darker shade of "beige"...

Yes, the northshore is beautiful; our daughter and family spent their timeshare week at Squaw Valley Olympic Village in July. And we've all skied at all of the above ski areas, as well as Incline. We used to go to Alpine Meadows quite a bit... love the view of the lake from the top of the slopes there. But, in recent years, we've been going to South Tahoe because it's closer for us to get there, up highway 395 and over Kingsbury hwy, from Southern California. I grew up in Stockton, CA, so I always loved our trips to Lake Tahoe!

We are fixing uup a little chalet style house in the Poconos and everything is wood... the ceiling, the floors. I had my husband paint the walls and trim cream and bought a big brown cordoroy sectional. My idea of color are the big heriz rugs (I love them !) that define the spaces. But so far that's the only color. Gotta get some pillows and something on the walls!!!

Maybe it's because I have so many fond memories from when I was a kid of that area (Grew up in LA, lots of camping trips in that area.) On the few occasions I have to drive to LA, I almost look forward to that section. ( and ya gotta stop at Walker Burger". You should enjoy this. My sister and I were driving down to bishop when we saw this at the scenic overlook at mono lake: Apparently someone decided they needed a much more comfortable chair on the turnout to watch the sunsets...

I've never actually been there but the pictures always look wonderful. I've taken 2 trips to New England and want to go again, but never got near the Poconos. And I know what you mean about all that paneling. The old cabins here have a ton of it. To some it makes the room "cozy", but if you live in it year round, it just makes the room dark and feel small and closed in. I'll bet painting the walls made a HUGE difference in brightening the place up a bit. (And I love corduroy sofas, especially the wide wale. Plush but not fussy.)
