Lily, I bought the 'Big Easy' soundtrack just to get a song by Dennis Quaid! That's very cool that the Moody Blues used your photos! Thanks, Lori, Jeez, I wish I had been free (schedule conflict) to go to the San Diego event last Saturday! I would've taken my digital SLR camera, for sure! If I had been there, I surely would've taken a lot of frames of you with Apolo! I didn't think about the Big Easy soundtrack... didn't know he sang on it. I saw the movie when it was first released and haven't seen it since then. Hope I can find the video to rent??? Have you ever had the chance to see Dennis Quaid with his band, the Sharks? They performed at the Del Mar fair a few years ago. What a fantastic, high-energy performance that was! At one point, Dennis jumped off the stage and sang to the group in the front row. The funny part was when he turned around to climb back onstage and realized how high it was. He, then, cooly climbed up the metal frame-work on the sides of the stage, never missing a beat! Of course, he was bare-footed the entire time! What a performer! ;D Then I missed seeing him, by just one night, at the Pechanga Resort in Temecula. A large contingent of Moody Blues fans check in for one of MB's concerts about 2-3 years ago. But, few fans had checked into the resort the night before (the rest of us) and found out that Dennis was doing a *free* performance in the upstairs lounge! What a treat that was for them; I kicked myself for not checking in one day early, as many of us do nowadays. Every so often, I do an online search for any Dennis Quaid concert news, but nothing yet.

Number1fan, did you know that Valley View is expanding? Temporarily, the buffet is in a humongous,,new room (to be their Events Center in the future) and the lines (of diners) are usually out the door. They are almost finished with the *permanent* new buffet room. Sorry you've had to quit tennis too... but your work-out is exactly what I do. One of the female racquetball players (at our athletic club) once said (as she sat in the locker room after a tough match), "it's the pits, getting old!" But, age is just a number; it's how you feel mentally that keeps you young! lily...the last time we went there, the whole place was being remodeled/expanded... we'll probably go one more time before the year ends. and thanks for advise...mentally i know age is just a number, but da*n, when you're out there competing and your body doesn't do what your mind tells it to, that sucks!

ITA... but when I used to play (tennis), I could play for 3 hours easily, (after warming up) and my husband would be dragging his tongue!!! My main problem was afterwards, or even that night, I would be soooooo stiff! In my high school days, I was in *tumbling* classes (no gymnastics back then... really shows my age here!), so I'm sure that was one of the reason for osteoarthritis now!
I, sincerely, hope Apolo isn't plagued with any arthritis later in life!

Lori, GND & Number1fan - I just knew I liked you two, You're right, we do have a lot in common. (and #1 fan- sunnyside and firesign are right across the street from one another on the west shore of Tahoe, so you may very well have been to one or the other ....and thanks for "callin' me on the age question-LOL - sound of chickens clucking in the background...) Lori, feel free to ask on the gardening, but I have to admit I'm a bit rusty on what will grow without wilting in LA (But I can aways ask my brother or sister who still live there) Welcome jennaceeta25. You're about my height. Repeat after me...we are not short, we are vertically challenged... How wonderful you play piano! ( I love music, but I suck at it personally. Can't carry a tune and I was musically impaired when it came to both piano and quitar- Oh well, we all have our talents..

Yeah, I've been playing piano for 8 years but I quit because my teacher lived too far away. I wish I didn't.. I've always wanted to play quitar but it's too heavy, lol. Do you play sports?

pm is a private message. Scroll up to the top of your screen- where the 4 pictures of Apolo in different colors are. To the right you will see your name and the number of messages. Click on "messages" and it will take you to a new screen where you can see your messages and reply if you wish.
It's just a nice feature when you want to ask or answer questions that not everyone may be interested in reading on the board or you want to have a conversation with someone specific, say if the info is more personal.
Also, there is a box somewhere you can click on that will bring up a pop up on your screen to let you know you have a personal message (But I don't remember where it is...)
Hey, Don't feel lost. I haven't been here that long myself, and since I don't do text messages, somethimes the initials for words escape me. I need a primer I think.....
