OK my Algebra2 teacher, is like a huge fan of U2 sooo, if he doesn't give us any classwork to do then he'll put on U2. Or if we're lucky he'll show us some of the concerts that he went and recorded!! yeah, he's insaneLOL

I think U2 is such a favorite, besides that they kept the good ole fashioned rock n roll alive, is that they are also huge humanitarians. Bono has contributed hugely to vast amounts of funds around the world to help stop hunger, disease and poverty. He comes from Ireland, which was the subject of so much poverty and dispair until they began to fight back.

Bono received many humanitarian awards, and he was nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize, back in 2003 and last year!
The One campaign was founded by a vast amount of companies and organizations, but Bono jump started the whole thing with free concerts and appearances around the country!
Hey, has Apolo ever been apart of any humanitarian works? I thought he was a big supporter of the hunger awareness groups out there, isn't he?

Thnxx Warhorse,
i know that Apolo is part of the Ronald McDonald House Charites ...for kids. I don't know if that's right, but i've heard they raised a lot of money "from his name"

I'm sure they did! He is such a great role model and attention getter, I hope more fund raisers approach him!
Oh, another favorite non Apolo subject of mine, don't laugh, because I'm still a kid at heart, is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles! Especially the older cartoons and movies!

I won't laugh at you Warhorse. I think that is neat that you keep some of your childhood loves. I used to love princess movies and I still love to watch them wtih my girls.
I was excited to see that the Ronald McDonald Houses are one of Apolo's charities! One of my children has needed various surgeries in a city two hours away and we have stayed at the RM House many times.

I know you guys aren't talking about Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtles without me! That live action movie? Rocked.my.socks. Next thing I know you guys are going to talk about "The Last Unicorn" or "Land Before Time" when I'm not here. Which, naturally, would break my heart .

Warhorse, I hope he begins to approach more charities as well. I hope he continues to reach out and use his notoriety to create positive change in the world.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rock! Love The Last Unicorn, too. My husband wrote a full orchestral arrangement to the theme song by the band America.

I'm still a total sucker for Disney animated movies, particularly the older classics. Sword in the Stone and Cinderella top my list. Even the non-animated Disney classics. If it's from the early 60's and I see the word "technicolor", I'm SO watching it!
