I have really enjoyed this board and getting to know some of you. I'd love to learn more about you. What, besides Apolo, interests you (if there is anything that interests you besides Apolo ;D)?
My passions are being a Mom to my five sweet (most of the time) children and being a wife to my wonderful husband of nearly 19 years. I am also a very strong Christian. I also am very "into" Lord of the Rings..both the books and the movies. I probably should not admit this here but Apolo is actually my third favorite celebrity. My favorite is LOTR actor Sean Astin and my second favorite, also a LOTR actor, is Elijah Wood. But I still think Apolo is great. ;D
So what are your un-Apolo related passions and interests?

Hey Rose1966, I am a huge fan of The Lord Of The Rings too! When the Return of the King was finally shown on screen, I went into a small depression when I realized there is no more of that beautiful work to lok forward too!
And Tolkien is an absolute genious, he's a genious. Where else can you find an author delve so deep into a fantasy that he created an entire, and several launguages all his own. And no other has sparked the imagination of people world wide. I mean, sometimes you almost wonder if there are hobbits hiding somewhere in the English countryside, or there was once a valient King Aragorn or the Lady of Lithlorien.
Truly a masterpiece! And it is also one of my favorite things, that and horses!

Thanks so much for responding Apolosfavoritfreak, Apolosgal and Warhorse. I enjoyed reading your responses. Warhorse, I loved, loved, loved the way you described your feelings for Lord of the Rings. You expressed so many of my own thoughts only much more eloquently. Thank you for sharing your feelings about LOTR and Tolkien. You know, I went through a similar depression after ROTK came out, too. It was so sad to me to know there were no more LOTR movies to look forward to. I will always be grateful to Peter Jackson for making those wonderful books into wonderful movies. They also introduced me to Sean Astin and Elijah Wood and, since then, I have enjoyed many of their movies, too. Okay, I will quit rambling.

No, don't stop your rambling, I dont mind. I have a bad habit of becoming the top poster on message boards because I'm such a chitter chatter! LOL!
OK, here's a little opinionated question, just for fun. What Lord of the Rings character reminds you the most of Apolo? And yourself!

That is a great question, Warhorse. I'd love to hear your opinion on the exact same thing.
For myself, I don't even have to think about it. Sam reminds me most of myself....a bit slow on the draw, perhaps, but loyal and determined and can have courage when I need to. For Apolo....I had to think about that one awhile. I could not decide between Aragorn or Frodo but I think I will settle on Frodo. Apolo, like Frodo, has overcome the odds to achieve a goal.
Okay, now I'd love to hear your thoughts on this, Warhorse.
Oh, and glad I am not the only one who likes to "ramble" ;D

Ok. I guess Apolo reminds me alot of Pippin, in that he was thrown into the heat of the battle, and came out courageously in the end, all the while keeping his humor and slightly rebellious streak all the while!
As for myself, I definitely see Eowyn in me, too much! Her rebellious nature, yearning to defend her country and people despite the old fashion sexism, is strangely familiar to mine! I also can ride horses as well as she, and surprisingly, I have gotten pretty good at weilding a sword!

Guys. I freaking love LOTR. Except I can't read the books. I try and I try and I just can't. The writing style makes me want to pull all of my hair out and make a rope and hang myself. BUT THE MOVIES!! I was so jazzed to see Elijah again! He aged extremely well. Probably the best of any child star I've ever seen. And how freaking cute were Pippin and Merry? They were the little engines that could. And the fact that they were clearly in love with each other made it that much better.

Warhorse, thanks so much for responding back. Yes, I can see a Pippin in Apolo, too, now that you mention it. Ruffian, glad to hear that you like LOTR, too. It is fun to have things in common with other forum members (obviously, we all have Apolo in common). Yes, Elijah is one of those rare childhood actors who grew up to still be an accomplished actor without going off the deep end. I hope I am not breaking Internet ettiquette by mentioning another site here but I belong to a wonderful Elijah Wood forum. I joined because of the LOTR section but I have made some wonderful friends there. Anyway, if you are interested in checking it out the link is always.ejwsites.net/YaBBSE/index.php

Sorry guyz but i don't like lord of the Rings. And i've gotta be honest even though this is the un Apolo related board It's depressing to see a link for Elijah Wood. This is still an Apolo web site. And I love APOLO!! Just my opinion. OK, this is an Apolo web site, and we all got together because of our admiration for the exceptional athlete, but there is only so much you can discuss about one person, or one subject all together. And if we find other interests that we have in common, then we should chat about it. If you don't like it, that's all good, just post up stuff that you do like, it won't kill you, Apolo or the message board. If anything, this will give the board more character. I am part of another message board, it was in tribute to a tv show that many of us loved, but the show was cancelled, but we still like to talk and hypothesized future episodes that could have been. In the middle of our worshipping this show and it's cast and characters, we began creating other sub boards to show other interests. It doesn't make us any less of an Apolo fan or TV show fan, it's just we humans are diverse creatures and we need variety. And Ruffian, that is some funny clips of Elijah Wood.
