The Carrie and Misery movies were amazing indeed! Primarily due to the remarkable talents of Sissy Spacek (sp) and Kathy Bates. The "Rose" movie mentioned earlier was Rose Red (not to be confused with Rose Madder, another King creation) and had it's share of creepy moments too. The upcoming movie for ABC is Desperation. As a book it was not so much a favorite of mine but as with many of his books, had ties to his epic Dark Tower series. And the movie Pet Sematary was great too. Fred Gwynne (aka Herman Munster) was perfect in his role, and Stephen King had a small part as well. He played the minister at one of the funerals. What I like about King novels is that he adds a touch of that perfect dry humor of his to balance out the horror. He'll say something that has you rolling on one page, and something to keep you up nights on the next. He's a very clever man who's just bloody good at what he does. No pun! Thanks guys!

Hmm, my favorite King book and movie is Firestarter! I also liked Misery, Maximum Overdrive and I also liked The Stand! (Rob Lowe in the Stand played the deaf/mute Nick, was so adorable and endearing, and it was also one of Gary Sinise's first big roles before Forrest Gump!
Rose, Bourne Supremacy is a sequel to The Bourne Identitiy, so you should watch that first. The Bourne saga is supposed to be a trillogy based on a series of novels. They are really good, about a man who has amnesia and is lost in Germany, and as he starts to remember things, he realizes he was a highly trained covert op! But he started to close in on some traitors in the American Intelligent agency.
In the second one, Karl Urban plays a Russian hitman come to take down Bourne, and he is great in here. His parts are small, but very effective!
On the topic of authors, some of my other favorites are: Michael Crichton: Jurassic Park, Congo Walter Farley: He did the beloved Black Stallion series! Anna Sewell: She only did one story, Black Beauty, but she fell gravely ill at the last of the story, so her mother helped pen out her thoughts,a nd shortly after publishing, she died, but opened up a whole new world of awareness against cruelty to animals! Piers Anthony: Fantasy author, my favorite from him is Split Infinity! Boy, would I love to see that book as a movie! J. K. Rowlings: Harry Potter, The Goblet of Fire is my favorite so far! And of course, J. R. R. Tolkien! Enough said about this brilliant man!

My favorite author ever is LM Montgomery (who wrote Anne of Green Gables). I love all her books. I love her style, her dry humor, her deep insight.

The Anne of Green Gables books are the best EVER! I've read every single one and several of Montgomery's other books. The movies are AWESOME as well (although I must admit the 3rd one did not live up to my expectations, as it strayed too far from the books I grew up on).

I love Clay Aiken, everything, his work with kids, him, his voice. I also love cooking. When I get out of High School I plan on attending Culinary school to become a chef! I am going to be the next Emiril, or Rachel Ray or Julia Child! Jacy

I have a friend that loves U2, too. She feels that their music saved her life when she was very depressed and contemplating suicide.
