Hey rose, have you read about Sean's family? That is one kooky story. The twins are James and Oliver Phelps and they play the older brothers in the harry potter movies. They're basically the comedy in the movie, lol.

Yes, Ruffian, I have read about Sean's family. It is a very kooky story. It makes me like and respect Sean even more that he turned out to be the wonderful, decent guy that he is. Sean is first and formost in my fandom. It is strange because you would think it would be one of the "hotter" guys but from the moment I saw Sean play Sam, I became a die hard fan. I have watched about half his movies (and hope to see more), read his book, read everything about him that I can get my hands on, belong to three Sean Astin yahoo groups, and have five of his autographed pictures (though sadly I have never met him). I should not admit this on an Apolo forum, but Sean has half of my devotion and the other guys (Apolo, Elijah, Hayden) share the other half. I could go on and on about him but I will refrain (don't want anyone mad at me again). In case some of you don't know who Sean Astin is (and I would not be too suprised), here is a picture of him with one of his three daughters. He is so devoted to his wife and daughters which of one of the many things I like about him (Okay, I said I would stop, didn't I?) Thanks for explaining who the twins are. Sintha, I don't know a lot about Dan Radcliff since I am not into HP but I have a friend who is obsessed.

Well, I for one refuse to suppress my Elijah/Hayden (Sweet god, he's goodlookin.' And, Ewan McGregor anybody?) passion! I can enjoy them and Apolo all at once. I'm what you might call a 'multi-tasker.' Say it loud, say it proud: I love the pretty boys! OK, I am a true Red, White and Blue American that;s proud of my freedom, freedom of speech (as long as it's in good tastes) and if I feel my beliefs being restrained, I have been known to get real hot headed about it! But that aside, I love Ewan McGregor! He is like my ost favorite actor, and I will go see every movie he's been in, (but I'm a bit too shy to watch Pillow Talk and Young Adam, if you know what I mean!) I also love anything to do with the military! I love my Army, Air Force, Marines and Navy! I loved the movie Black Hawk Down (there's some mighty fine eye candy in that movie, Erik Bana, ouch, ouch ouch!) ;D And I love Star Wars! Always have, always will! My favorite is R2D2! I wonder if Apolo likes Star Wars?

Sintha-Yeah! Dan Radcliff was so freaking adorable in the first movie. He's grown up so much, he looks like a baby in Sorcerer's Stone. Rose, Sean does seem like a real stand-up guy, which is an extremely rare and wonderful quality. I've picked up snippets here and there about him and I always got the impression that he was a good man so I'm totally with you on the Sean love. And. Sam? Melts my heart! How sweet was Sam?? I don't know. I don't think anyone knows because his sweetness cannot be measured. That scene where frodo tells Sam to get lost and Sam just curls up into a little ball and sobs? I had to go get me a Kleenex, I can't even lie, lol. But his family story was kooky. He grew up to be great tho, . warhorse- Ewan is sooo great. I thought he was funny as hell as obi-wan (sometimes, god love 'im, unintentionally, ;D) Although I agree with you about pillow talk and the other, I would feel like a total perv renting those, lol. I saw trainspotting tho and, let me tell ya, it doesn't leave much to the imagination . Did you ever see a life less ordinary? I really liked that one, despite cameron diaz being in it, who I can do without.

I read somewhere that Sam was the key character in the end, that was how Tolkien meant it to be.

Yes, Sean is amazing *bites tongue so not to go on an on* And Sam is sweet and courageous and loyal. I love him! My favorite scene from my favorite movie is in ROTK on the side of Mt. Doom when Sam says, "I can't carry it for you but I can carry you." *clutches heart*
Warhorse, I think you are absolutely right about Tolkien intending for Sam to be a key character at the end.
You know, it's funny, I have also wondered if Apolo likes Star Wars (and LOTR). I wonder if he watches movies and what kind of movies he enjoys.
The only movie I have seen Ewan in is Star Wars but he is so amazing there, I'd love to see some more of his movies.

First off, Apolo loves Star Wars.
Second, how could I have forgotten that scene? My sister and I just about die when Sam hoisted Frodo up and carried him up that mountain of death. It was just, fantastic. Or how about at the end of the...second one, I believe, when frodo and sam are talking about how their stories are gonna be told in the future and Frodo says, "I want to hear more about Sam" and Sam practically bursts from pride? I have to watch it at least three times and just shake my head at how freaking adorable that is. Gah, Mr. Frodo and Sam. I love them, ;D

Ohhh*refrains from squealing like a fan girl* I love that scene in Two Towers, too, Ruffian. There are so many "precious" (the LOTR fans will get it ;D) Sam scenes. Sometimes I watch the movies and skip only to all the Sam and Frodo scenes. I love the "I am glad to be with you, Samwise Gamgee, here at the end of all things." scene, too. We are about the same age, Laura...but you discovered Sean way before I did. (You lucky thing ). However since I discovered him in LOTR, I have been slowly collecting his movies. My favorites (besides the obvious...LOTR) are Rudy and Harrison Bergeron. I don't know who David Spade is (boy, do I feel out of the loop, I don't know about half of the names you girls are saying) but confession is good for the soul. ;D (My husband would add..."And bad for the reputation" )

Yes, I bet you have seen a lot of movies with two teenage sons! I have seen the Goonies, too. It is really a cute movie. Sean was a great actor, even as a child.

I love Goonies! And Mouth in that was hilarous! And there was a kid in there nicknamed Chunk, just like Apolo!
The part in LOTR that made me cry, was near the end, when the hobbits were approaching King Aragorn, and getting ready to bow, and Aragorn goes "You don't Bow to no one!" And he and the rest of the court all bowed to the little hobbits. OMG, I'm getting chills just from thinking about it!
