Sorry guyz but i don't like lord of the Rings. And i've gotta be honest even though this is the un Apolo related board It's depressing to see a link for Elijah Wood. This is still an Apolo web site. And I love APOLO!! Just my opinion. Sorry that you found the link depressing, Ree Ree. AndI completely respect that fact that you and others don't like LOTR. But I have to agree with Warhorse. As much as we may love, admire and respect him, there is only so much we can say about him. Yes, he is the reason we are all here. But, as I said, there is only so much we can say about him before we run out of things to talk about. I think it is great the Lindsey started an un-Apolo section so we can talk about other things, too, and get to know each other better. If Lindsey or Nerka (as administrator and moderator....are ther any other mods?) ask us not to talk about LOTR or Elijah, I will certainly repect and obey their wishes. But if this thread bothers the individual members, then perhaps they can just avoid this section. I know on other forums there are sections I avoid because they don't interest me. I have really enjoyed learning what all of you are interested in. Rach2crazy, I have not heard about the Blues Brothers movie. I'd love to hear more about it. Edit: Rach2crazy, if you go to your profile, there is a place there for an avator. If you put the URL of the picture you want there, it will appear on the left. Perhaps someone else can explain this better!

Rose, I think this thread is a great idea. It kind of lets us come up for air if you know what I mean. Not to mention getting to know one another better. One of my greatest passions is cooking. I love haunting exotic food stores for rare spices and oils. I love having family and/or friends over for good food and wine. I'll cook anything from Moroccan or Thai to good old fashioned American comfort foods. Eating feeds the body and soul. Brings people together and makes everyone get along. My passion is making everyone around my table happy.

Rach2crazy, sorry you could not find it. I wonder if Lindsey or Nerka could help you.
August, I loved reading what you wrote. That is so neat that you like to cook ethnic foods and American foods and that you like everyone around your table to be happy. Thanks so much for sharing this passion with us. I wish I could sample some of your cooking!

Rose, trust me, showing Elijah love is my priviledge! I surfed around there last night and spent an (completely inordinate!) amount of time in the picture section just wallowing. I'm gonna join later, so I'll keep my eye out for you. Warhorse, aren't they fabulous!?

My non-Apolo passion is football. I don't play it, lol, but I sure love watching it. I'm pretty dedicated to Tom Brady, the quarterback for the New England Patriots... I have another website dedicated to him... www.tom-brady.org . I love to design websites, if you haven't noticed... I guess that's the way I express my adoration! Edit: whoops, I included a period after my URL so it altered it when you clicked on it. Hopefully it works now.

That is really neat, Lindsey. I could not get into the website to check it out but I will try again later. My husband likes Tom Brady, too.

But if this thread bothers the individual members, then perhaps they can just avoid this section. I know on other forums there are sections I avoid because they don't interest me. That's definitely what I started the thread for! I really won't restrict any of what's talked about here as long as it's kosher (we do have quite a few younger readers, and I want to respect their innocence, as well as mine! haha). I don't delete posts unless I think the subject is too mature for some of our audience. I put up a separate board b/c I figured some would not really be interested in reading about miscellaneous things...but I realize we've all got a friendship thing going on, too. So it's separate, but still here! I would definitely just avoid this section if you only want to discuss Apolo (hey, that's why we're here in the first place, right?). There's plenty going on elsewhere. Personally, I've liked Elijah Wood since Flipper (that dates me). lol. So, just to clarify things; feel free to discuss as many topics as you like (just keep the younger ones among us in mind!) Thanks you guys! You're all so great! I'm so pleased to have such a great group of people visiting this board.

oh, p.s. Nerka is the only other moderator at this point. She's great with layout, so we're trying to get her access to the layout controls (I'm not sure what level she needs to be at to do that, so we're testing it out). Hopefully it'll work!

I don't understand your reasoning girls! If we talk about other people that we like, we are unloyal? Isn't that some sort of dictatorship that you are preaching?
Well, another thing I love is figure skating! I jumped on that band wagon during the Tonya Harding/ Nancy Kerrigan fiasco! My favorite figure skaters are Scott Hamilton and Michelle Kwan. I was so saddened to see her with draw from the games!
Kimmie Meisner won the World Championships Saturday! Everyone has hyped up Sasha Cohen unbelievably, and she may be a beautiful skater to watch, but she's too unconsistant on her jumps. I definietely say to keep an eye on Kimmie Meisner, she's been known to be one of the few women in history to land a triple axle!
Also, I think it would be so cool to have Apolo trade careers for a day, life one of them life swaps, with a figure skater. Have him attempt a double axle, and have a figure skater attempt a short track meet!
