Hi Lori!! I was there last night and standing there watching your whole camera malfunction with Apolo! And you are exactly right -- he was so adorable and patient and really wanted to make sure you got the picture. I still can't believe I was there. I, too, wasn't going to go up and say hello and wanted to respect his space but he was so approachable, I felt comfortable. And his speech and the way he presented himself was wonderful. My respect and admiration from 2002 has just skyrocketed after seeing him last night. Up close. (oh-my-goodness!). But he was so cute and nice with you.I'm a goner. Awww, thank you, skaterswaltz. I wondered if my interpretation was what I thought it was - thank you for validating it, (and thank you for not throwing Tiramisu). I would've loved to have met you! I think you would've fit in 'right nicely with our motley crew - Don't be shy next time! AND thanxx everybody for your nice comments and PM's. I was excited to do this, and never dreamed how beautifully it would turn out - thanks to our sweet Sk8trBoi, thanks to my beautiful, understanding hubby, thanks to a caring and persistent new friend (Deb), and thanks to a crap camera that cost me more than it was worth, but turned out to be a bargain!

What fun to read about Lori's and skaterwaltz adventures. Thanks for sharing! Apolo looks fantastic, so glad to hear that he was so relaxed and nice. I loved the description "disarmingly" attractive. He seems like such a great guy. The good guys are like that - they look you in the eye and take the time with you. I'm so happy to hear Apolo is like this. It makes you feel that you are not wasting your time as a fan.
Thanks again.
How long will we have to wait for the next sighting or encounter?

Want to tell you all how much I enjoy visiting here... feels like family. Hope to get to meet some of you someday. I couldn't agree more, Lynda. It's a really great place here. BTW - if we're weighing in on hair... let me say, shave the 'stash, keep the soul patch and let the rest grow back out... Ditto, ditto...and DITTO!

Lori---Yaay!!! Mission accomplished! ;D I'm so excited for you that you got to meet him, touch him, talk to him, look into his eyes, everything! I was laughing so much through the camera situation! But really--didn't it make it that much more memorable, that much more special?? It looks like there are three pics at the beginning of your post, but all I could see was the one that had you cropped out *You should have let us see you!* Is anyone else having trouble seeing the first three? Skaterswaltz, thank you also for your recap and comments---I'm so glad both of you had such a great time and I was drooling thinking about the perfect V shape, don't know why! Yaay! I can't express over the internet how excited I am for everyone who was there! Sorry I didn't respond to all of this sooner--lightning hit our house Friday night and we still don't have phones, TV, hot water, etc. But I was more than thrilled to get on this morning at work and read all three pages of recaps and comments! Yaay!

To Lori and Skaterswaltz, thank you so much for sharing your stories! I really wish I could have been there too. I live only 30 miles north of San Diego, so close, but I had to go to Orange county on Saturday, not to return until yesterday. I did see all that horrendous traffic that you (Lori) encountered on your drive south. I certainly empathize with your camera "malfunction"; I am a *camera nut* and felt your anguish as I read your post. But, it certainly did turn out, for the best, didn't it!!!
*Cheers* to you both! ;D

I had intended to e-mail Maria Todaro to ensure that Apolo had indeed gotten our message. But she beat me to the punch. I just got an e-mail from her, which read: Hi Lori! I wanted to let you know that I hand-delivered the envelope to Apolo and watched him open it He seemed flattered! Thank you so much for coming to our event. I hope you had a great time. Best, Maria -------------------------------- Can I say - BONUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lori, you are da bomb! How cool is she to do this for us? She is the PR person for the event, correct? I thought Apolo's personal public relations person was named Lisa. anyways--back to squealing and pretending not to!
