I found this site kind of weird, why because I live in the same hall as the guy. To me he is just one of the guys upstairs. So it all seems kind of creepy. Picture a fan site about your Friend, neighbor, or someone you know. It would be weird to see it.

See most of you have never met him but rave on and on about him. IDK I guess it is just a different perspective. To me his is a real person who is just a normal guy. Kind of self centered and stuck up because of the publicity, but who would not be. Its hard to live as someone famous and not get somewhat stuck up. So I forgive him for that. But seriously people, he is just a guy, with problems like all of us. Honestly you can find a better hero them him. I would suggest finding someone you know, who has great character. Sure his speed skating is great and all, but there is a lot more to someone then how well they can skate.

Look I am not trying to piss anyone off or knock him. Because he is an amazing speed skater, no one disputes that. He is also kind of cute, but honestly in person I don't think he is that HOT. He is kind of short for me and a lot of the pictures of him make him look cutter then he really is. What gets me tho is he is kind of a jack ass and a stuck up ass if you get to know him, not his fault, I mean I am sure this kind of fame would do it to the best of us. But I would not recommend making him your hero. This is just all my personal option based on my one on one interactions with him.

P.S. NO I will not pass messages to him. I know I would be pissed if he started passing messages to me from random people I don't know, so I will not do it to him. Thats just creepy. Imagen how you would feel!

I actually enjoy reading this kind of comment, because it proves your point that he is a normal guy. I like that about him. Frankly, if he was a goody-two-shoes, I wouldn't be interested.

He is a big fish in a small pond and has been treated that way for years. At least he uses the fame that he worked his a$$ off for to try to promote short track and various charities.

As for your comments about how he looks, lots of people who've met him seem to disagree with you, but we all have different tastes and you're entitled to yours. There are movie stars that people drool over that I just don't get.

You apparently didn't make it into his inner circle. For all we know, he didn't like you either, but we're not going to get his side of the story.

I'm not saying you're wrong or shouldn't have posted your comment. I'm just saying that you haven't changed my perspective any.

I don't think anyone here believes Apolo is a saint. Most probably wouldn't want him to be that perfect. Although, I believe everyone here genuinely likes him. Some people here have actually met him and came away with a very good impression.

You are certainly entitled to your opinion just like everyone else. I have a question though. Is there an example of why you think Apolo is a jack ass or is it just an overall impression? An example might help people understand your point of view and not think you are a random crackpot.

He's not a saint, he's just a man. He's not my "hero" & I have no messages for him...but I do however find him attractive. I can't say if he's a jackass or not because I don't know him & have never met him. But, if he is indeed a jackass, then it is his fault. Why make excuses for him? Fame doesn't make you an ass unless you let it.

You clearly have some reason as to why you are posting here, calling him an arrogant jackass...so, what is it?

I am a fan of many athletes, but none are my heros. I just like their abilities of what they can do. I know none personally, and really don't care. It's being called a fan.
Sorry if Apolo comes off as an jackass. To one person, he seems nice, to another he may seem like an @ss. Yes, as others here, I do find him attractive.
I also love the sport that he is in, and he happens to be one of the best. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yeah, I didn't get that "pick someone else for a hero" bit. He's just a speedskater. He's not going to save the world.

I find him gorgeous and entertaining. I also don't think I'd want to get on his bad side.

But I like the fact that he has a bad side. I sure the he!! do.

Face it, if he wasn't the aggressive, self-assured, take no prisoners type, we wouldn't know who he was. You need to be all of those things to succeed at shorttrack.

I don't know why people think he's a decent fellow. I've heard three or four skaters elude to his actually being a dickhead have gotten dickhead vibes from his interviews. He's just some random guy that people choose to assign a fantasy to. That's all, please stop trying to rationalize the crazy. Embrace that shit. You'll be much more peaceful.
