It wasn't Allison he hugged at all after won the 500m, just his coaches. Also, I will point out that he was looking for Shani Davis after he won and waved to him excitedly when he found him in the stands not Allison. (Check out the video on NBCOlympics) Yes I know that he took a picture with her after the medal ceremony but he wasn't yelling for Allison in the stands.

No Shani is from the South Side, he grew up in Hyde Park...then moved up to Rogers Park to be closer to the Ice Skating rink in Evanston, IL...but he didn't graduate from a Chicago school, he spent his last 2 years in a school in Marquette, MI, where he trained and where they have a lot of races.....
For those who are not from Chicago, Hyde Park and Rogers Park are neighborhoods in Chicago, Evanston is a surburb right outside of Chicago.

Hmmmm...what to say about Allison. ;-) Okay I will be nice Well, here is the quick bio. (If you want more check out her website it goes into more detail www.allisonbaver.com/main.htm ) She is two years older than Apolo (born August 1980) she is from Reading, PA and graduated from Penn State in '03 with a degree in business and she is currently pursuing her MBA. As most short track skaters got her start in inline and then tried short track. Her first time on the ice she bailed (as I probably would too) and got scared but eventually tried again. She lives at the OTC, likes hip hop and is really, really into cheerleading. She also tried out as a dancer for an NBA team but didn't make it....I wonder why? |

In regards to why she didn't make it on an NBA cheer/dance squad I am sure my fellow kindred spirit, lauramj, is reading my mind as to why darling Allison didn't make the cut. :-)

She is just not good enough for Apolo. Honestly if he was with someone of his caliber and had an awesome personality like him then I would think good for him. But whenever I see them together they don't fit and there is zero chemistry! I have honestly tried to see the good in Allison and she is a fine person and kinda cute but when she is with Apolo she just shrinks into nothingness next to him.
