I feel certain that Apolo is weighed, measured, and every inch of his body is probed on a regular basis by physicians. I knew I should have followed my heart and become a doctor! .....I must add that haven't we come to the conclusion over the years that the boy is not 5-8? Perhaps I'm in the minority, but I didn't take Hanson's comment quite so literally. I didn't get the impression she said he was lying at all. I took it as what I've often thought myself - that I can't believe he's 5'8" as he appears shorter than that. I can't say her comment offended me as I didn't read anything more into it than that. Having stood next to the guy, quite frankly you forget about height, weight or - believe it or not - anything below his neck, (Lexi ) because you just can't take your eyes off of that face. (although you do because you feel like you're staring) As I said in the SLC thread before it nuked itself, his face is a lot gentler than what pictures convey. (Photos seem to sharpen or harden the features of a lot of people- it's a quality that is hard to define) He isn't a tall guy, (I was with it enough despite of the OFF to get that impression, I'm 5'1, and I had boots on with 2" heels- yup another 5" sounds about right) But he is very lean on top, so there is no "bulk' which often can give a sense of physical 'presence' and stature. But really, who cares what height he is anyway. A great guy is a great guy. When we were trying to get the autograph for Jenna, he had already passed us, talking to other fans along the way as he tried to make it down the tunnel back to what I was assuming was the athletes locker area. When we called out to him, he actually stopped and backtracked back down to Lori and me to sign the ST magazine for us. I'm sure he would have liked nothing better at that point than to continue on his way to a hot shower and a hearty meal - he certainly had earned it. But instead, he took the time for a simple kindness. That made him 10 feet tall in my eyes.

Mtnme, I loved that story. Makes me wish I could meet him in person more than ever. I need to apologize to Hanson and Laura for my reaction to their comments. So sorry. Sometimes I just don't think things through. I should have known they didn't mean to disparage Apolo in any way. I think I'm much too defensive about him. Gotta fix that.

No need to thank me. You deserved an apology, because I made a hasty assumption that wasn't true. But you're welcome anyway.

Breidy...Thanks so much for the article and the pictures! Apolo has always been good looking and very appealing but he seems to have an aura now that transcends mere looks. He's truly captivating; boyish, charming, sincere, exciting and EXUDES sexiness (the "laughing" picture) and yet still seems a bit shy.
His quote that Yuki is "the backbone of my success"is a main reason Apolo's stature is giant!

Thanks for the article. Cute read. Though I must add that haven't we come to the conclusion over the years that the boy is not 5-8? Hi Hanson! For the benefit of the newer fans, a number of long-time Apolo fans (the ones who have met him and talked with him on multiple occasions) feel that he is just a hair under 5'8". As an example, my mom always gave her height as 5 feet, 9 and three-quarter inches. Whenever she said that, I would give her my best exasperated-daughter look, and say, "Mom, round up!" So Apolo's recorded height of 5'8" is probably close enough, give or take. But I agree with Mtnme that height is about the last thing I care about when I see him. He is so handsome, charismatic, kind and charming. I gave up trying to take my eyes off of him a long time ago.

I got it! ;D Here is my "stealing the Muscle & Body mag story."
My sister was visiting for the weekend and we had gift cards to use at the mall, which is on the same road as the Vitamin Shoppe. Of course, I didn't know exactly where it was, so we were both frantically looking for it in all the shopping plazas down the road. Finally we saw it. Of course, it was closed since we'd gone there in the morning and I'd neglected to see when it opened. I peered in the store and tried to see if I could locate where they kept the mags, but I didn't see it anywhere. I went back to the car where my sister was waiting. But, as she was pulling out, (from the other side of the building) I saw it! I actually made her pull forward into the spot again so I could make sure! lol... I'm crazy.
So of course we came back later and I popped in the store, heading straight for the rack on the shelf. The guy at the desk asked, "Can I help you with something?" and I said kind of sheepishly, "Actually I'm just here for the magazine."
I picked one out of the rack, and it had a price on it in the corner, so I asked how much they were, and he said, "Oh, they're actually free." I would have paid practically any reasonable amount, anyway, lol! Then I wanted one of the ones farther back, because the first one wasn't perfect. "Oh, do you like him or something?" the guy asked, chuckling. "Well, I kind of run a website for him," I said, and laughed. "Oh really?" he asked, and I nodded and made a quick escape, clutching my treasure.
My sister and my friend grabbed the magazine before I could even look at it, lol! I was so worried they were going to drool all over it....

I stopped by the Vitamin Shoppe yesterday. However, they said they have not received the magazine in yet. Since it isn't too far from my workplace I'll try to go later this week and try again.

Well guys - I'm back in business. Went by and grabbed another handful of Muscle & Body mags. I have about 8 extra copies that I'd be happy to mail out. Just let me know if you would like one and I'll send it on.
You can email me your address if you're interested.

I guess 'articles' can be audio in nature. Here's some ear candy.... Going thru my emails and came across this link that I had saved. I'm sure it's here somewhere in the Forum, but I thought I would re-post it. Grab your morning cup of coffee, sit back and enjoy. abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=3204527 Linda
