Californiagrown...I'm originally from CA, babe. So. Cal, Los Angeles County, to be exact. But I've lived in Oregon LONGER than when I was living in L.A. Glad I left it. It was the best thing I did for myself, personally. I see you are in the Bay area. Coolness. Much better than So.Cal, that's for sure. Nice to see another "coaster" here....and yeah, but sometimes, when you are NEW and you see some comments about stuff, it's hard NOT to comment on stuff, know what I mean? Being a married woman and all and having been engaged BEFORE that ( and NO, I don't mean to the man I ended up marrying, either and I've only done THAT once ) You end up having to put your own "2 cents and then some" in the pot sometimes! ;D

Hehe, moderator here trying to catch up on posts after an absence, lol!! You guys are right, when you're gone, the posts just keep flying by! It's a real piece of work to try to go back and read everything (because, of course, I just HAVE to know what everyone is saying, lol!)... It's been a pretty interesting discussion on this thread, tho...

And yes, I DID read his autobiography. Very good head on his shoulders. I know men my age who don't EVEN have their head's screwed on as well as this guy does. Way to go, Apolo. Keep it up, baby. I'm proud of you! I know! I agree completely, Amy. When I read his book I thought, "I can't believe this guy is only 20!" (the age he was when he wrote the book). He is incredibly mature and articulate for his age. I hope, hope, hope he writes another book.

Men wear rings all the time. And if it was an "engagement ring" or a "promise ring" it'd be on the left hand and not the right. Reading too much into this, me thinks. I think Apolo is nowhere near wanting to get married, anyhow. IMHO, I think the next thing he's wanting to do is to figure out what to do/where to go after his Speed-skating career is over. I don't think he'd want to be married unless he had a solid career going on, myself. And yes, I DID read his autobiography. Very good head on his shoulders. I know men my age who don't EVEN have their head's screwed on as well as this guy does. Way to go, Apolo. Keep it up, baby. I'm proud of you! Oh, yes, yes! I totally agree. I really do feel that Apolo is nowhere near ready to be married, or even wants to be. I don't care if he has been with the same person for 2 years and some months. To be honest, that don't mean sh :-Xt! Again I say, anybody who is still interested in spending their money on cars, and really doesn't what their going to do within the next 2 years, and constantly makes comments about how hard dating is being an athlete or when your training is NOT ready for marriage, I don't care if he's with Halle Berry, he ain't ready. And I'm willing to bet a dollar that the married people on this board will agree with me Because they know when a man is ready!

I'm married babe and OLD ENOUGH to know that this guy is smarter than that at this age and so uncertain in his future after his skating career.

That's true Amy, that is so true.
One thing I learned, and not the hard way, thank goodness, is that it's when a man is ready, then he will settle down with the next one that comes along.
That's the mistake that alot of women make, they think that a man will be with them, because they are together..blah, blah.
It's not about the right girl, for a man it's about the Right Time, with whoever...if she's the right girl, then it's a great match, if she not the right girl, it won't match...but it's your talking about a man settling, it's about when HE"S ready.
