We may have a better shot at seeing some video and photos from Japan, as their government doesn't put a stranglehold on all media coming out of the country. Unfortunately, between the three Asian countries that are most active in ST (Korea, China, and Japan) *by far* the least amount of ST information comes out of Japan. It is really pitiful. Maybe with their native (grand)son Apolo skating on Japanese soil, things will take a turn for the better, but I'm not optimistic. I'll keep an eye out, though, as will others. If there's TV coverage, the Koreans will get it figured out and will post the info. Last season, I detected a heightened interest, shall we say, by Korean ST'ers in the Japanese skaters. I'm not entirely sure why. I believe that a Japanese coach was 'visiting' over in Korea for a length of time...I don't know at what level or in what capacity, but this may have piqued the Korean's interest. ETA: I thought that China's coverage of the WC (for print and online media) was actually quite good -- at least as good as our coverage of SLC and probably better. But understandably most of the coverage has been focused on the "home team", particualrly Wang Meng. Unlike the Korean media, which still has a lingering resentment from the '02 Olympics, the Chinese media seems to have a liking and respect for Apolo, and they are taking notice of Jeff Simon as well. Their coverage of U.S. skaters always seems fair and even-handed to me. The Korean media will snark at the U.S. team at almost any opportunity. JMO

Doesn't anybody own a camera? (and I'll volunteer Lily for the job if they don't) The off ice shots are always fun and interesting and gives you a sense of personality.
And speaking of Lily- hey, I KNOW you took a bazzilion photos at both WC 1 and 2, and not many have shown up on the threads. You're holding out on us!!!!! ....slacker.
Edit: Great photo of Prince Charles, by the way..... Hey Mtnme and Everyone--- First of all, thanks for the 'vote of confidence' regarding my pics! Secondly... yep, I've taken a bazillion photos of the short track racing... as well as several sports for Special Olympics. I've volunteered myself to take as many pics for the SO athletes as time permits. I spent 3 hours yesterday and 2 hours today, sorting out pics (on my laptop) to give to the Special Olympians, as gifts, at their next games on the 13th. I did this as I was riding in our car to take Grandson #1 back to college. I also did sort out some of the pics of WC-1 and WC-2... and I hope to post of few more but I don't want to hog the thread space so I haven't inundated the site with pics. I feel a little weird about how many pics I should post here... others should have their space too. We're still visiting friends and my mother... and won't get home until tomorrow.

I think I 'speak' for most of us here in saying...feel free to 'hog' the thread. We want pics---no pressure, by the way It's either your fantastic pics or my "if you squint it kinda looks like a human form on the ice" blurry-ass pics...Your choice! Hope you are enjoying your family visit.

Apolo sure was tearing up the ice! That second-to-last lap time was phenominal. I wish I could have been there to see it. It's nice to see J.R. getting the acknowledgment that he was indeed a contributor to the men's victory in the relay. Cyberscoreboard never did figure that out.
